This could be due to the server not recognizing the user id, the password being wrong for the user id, having line numbers in your input (FTP does not "understand" line numbers -- at all), having the wrong server name, and so forth. The problem most of the time is something to do with the remote server, although line numbers do cause a number of problems I've seen. Ok this is what is going on. I am compiling an easytrieve program and it does not compile and i get the ftp error. I don't understand it either, because I checked the proc and jcl and I don't see anything to do with FTP. I have only worked with easytrieve a few times and am by far no expert. So any help or point me in the right direction would be appreciated. Thanks. nicole Posts: 23Joined: Thu Ju
