I am getting very frustrated with ISA at the moment ready to go and kick the box in. I am making a program https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb794745.aspx in VB.NET and I have a one liner piece of code for uploading and downloading via ftp. I have used this code millions of times so I am sure its not a problem with the code. When is passes the line to do the FTP (with authentication) it bombs out with this error: System.Net.WebException: The server returned an address in response to the PASV command that is different than the address to which the http://forums.isaserver.org/PASV_FTP_Error_with_ISA_2006/m_2002077700/tm.htm FTP connection was made. But when I try it internally (no isa) it works perfectly every time. I have tried opening a cmd window and connecting through that way with the same logon details and its logs on perfectly but as soon as i type dir it jsut freezes, I have now left it running for over 20 mins doing a dir command and nothing has returned. Here is the contents of the CMD window from logon: 230-Welcome Remote Client. 230 User ITManagementClient@hotchkiss.co.uk logged in. ftp> dir 500 Invalid PORT Command. 150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for /bin/ls. I can sucessfully browse through directories though but again here is the output from browsing one directory then trying to upload again: 230-Welcome Remote Client. 230 User ITManagementClient@hotchkiss.co.uk logged in. ftp> cd System 250 CWD command successful. ftp> put Local file C:\IT\debug.log Remote file debug.log 500 Invalid PORT Command. 150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for debug.log. and it just sits there and here is the output if I do it internally (not going throug ISA) 230-Welcome Remote Client. 230 User ITManagementClient@hotchkiss.co.uk logged in. ftp> cd Install 250 CWD command successful. ftp> put Local file C:\IT\debug.log Remote file debug.log 200 PORT command successful. 150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for debug.log. 226 Transfer complete. ftp: 3712 bytes sent in 0.00Seconds 3712000.00

So far I've configured DynDNS properly and set the settings in the firewall to allow connections inbound and outbound on port 21. ftp error But still I get this error..... Quote:425 Can't open data connection.Failed to retrieve directory listing. It tells me that the user is logged in appropriately but it is not dropping them into there home folder or allowing them to connect/transfer any data etc. I've set both server/client to use passive mode, and I'm fairly sure the firewall is configured correctly as well, so now I'm pulling my hair out, ftp error getting any help would be appreciated. In the screenshot, the port offered was 49389 (192*256+237). So, in addition to the listening port, you need to define, open and forward a range of ports for Passive data connections (minimum recommended 100 ports). Please refer to the Network Configuration guide for details. Besides, in case you are behind a router and test from your own LAN, use the private LAN IP to connect. _________________### BEGIN SIGNATURE BLOCK ###No support requests per PM!
