The Remote Host Cannot Be Found. Before reading this.. please note that i am new to Dreamweaver, so if I'm not making scene you know why! I have looked into web https://macosx.com/threads/dreamweaver-cs4-ftp-connection-problem.304742/ hosting today, and have been given the details by TPG Internet (my internet provider) for my 30mb free web space.. I have entered all relevant details into Dreamweaver but unfortunately it keeps coming up with an error when I click “test” ftp error (AN FTP ERROR OCCURRED CANNOT MAKE CONNECTION TO HOST. THE REMOTE HOST CANNOT BE FOUND.) I thought that there must have been an error with the details which I put in.. so I called TPG and the details which they had given me were correct.. If anyone has any suggestions on what else i could be doing wrong i would greatly appreciate it dreamweaving View Public Profile Find More Posts by dreamweaving 05-21-2010, 05:07 AM #2 edbr Join Date: Aug 2005 ftp error occurred Location: Bali Posts: 10,365 in your remote connection in site definition have you selected passive ? __________________ If you're happy and you know it shake your meds! different style links examples Flight / Hotel search Free script download Bali Villas edbr View Public Profile Send a private message to edbr Find More Posts by edbr 05-23-2010, 11:36 PM #3 dreamweaving Join Date: May 2010 Posts: 3 Hello Edbr, Thanks for your reply! This may be due to one or more of the following reasons:... I've made all the adjustments and corrections suggested thereafter in the error window, but to no avail. I've even did a clean install of the software, and have also did a complete wipe of my hard drive and reloaded all system software and application software from scratch, and still the same problem. The Adobe site's information and links to forums dealing with this problem have been no help whatsoever. My connection is through a DSL protocol, both hard wired (via Ethernet) and wireless, depending on where I'm located. Have no problems with other internet related connections with other software that accesses the internet. My Dreamweaver 8 application, on the same computer, loads up just fine and connects to the host just fine with no FTP errors whatsoever to which I'm able to do any updates, work on the site, etc, with no problem, whether I'm connected via a har
