Snatchez AUSTRALIA5 year(s) agoPermalink Post hi there new to Indexhibit and loving the concept.. ..however when i try to install and attempt to change permissions to Files folder oi keep on getting this annoying message : Can't change directory to files: Permission denied - Error -125: remote chdir failed . I can see that i can change other folders and files permissions but not these 2. I am w Godaddy and i have ask them for a possible issue with their server but they have replied that it's probably a 3rd party problem not them. I have search the forum but haven't found any thread that i could use.. My url is albertosanchez.org and am using Transmit2 3.7 / Mac any help would be greatly appreciated cheers Alberto Vaska AUNITED STATES5 year(s) agoPermalink Post But, by third party they mean Transmit, not Indexhibit. We can't control the server that way... They should really be more helpful though since it's a simple permissions issue. If you can't get it work with another FTP app and they won't help you get a new host. Snatchez AUSTRALIA5 year(s) agoPermalink Post Thanks Vaska.. i'll look into it and post back any findings.. cheers A Snatchez AUSTRALIA5 year(s) agoPermalink Post well i contacted support @ Goddady again pointing out that it is nothing to do with Mac Transmit or Indexhibit and that had to be a reason why i couldn't change permissions in my server and this is what they had to say about it : Support Staff Response Thank you for your response. I apologize as you are unable to change the permissions for your root directory in a shared hosting environment. This would require a Virtual Dedicated or Dedicated Server. GoDaddy offers a variety of competitively priced Dedicated and Virtual Dedicated Servers...blah blah so anybody out there having issues w permissions and Goddady this is what it comes down to. Vaska AUNITED STATES5 year(s) agoPermalink Post Whoa...what the heck? This is unbelievable. There are tons of sites on their servers already... Did you try 755 instead of 777? See if that works. I can't believe they would make this kind of a change... But, you aren't trying to chan

directory"? chdir failed file directory non-uniform file name space Technote (troubleshooting) Problem(Abstract) Why do I get the error "chdir(...) failed: no such file or directory"? Resolving the problem A command may fail with the following error message due to a non-uniform file name space. chdir(...) failed: no such file or directoryYou are trying to execute a command remotely, where either your current working directory does not exist on the remote host, or your current working directory is mapped to a different name on the remote host. If your current working directory does not exist on a remote host, you should not execute commands remotely on that host. On UNIX If the directory exists, but is mapped to a different name on the remote host, you have to create symbolic links to make them consistent. LSF can resolve most, but not all, problems using automount. The automount maps must be managed through NIS. Follow the instructions in your Release Notes for obtaining technical support if you are running automount and LSF is not able to locate directories on remote hosts.
