this, does anyone have specific experience with the 41.5 Error on this print engine? Thanks in advance, 41.5 printer error hp laserjet 4000 Kevin Respond to this 1 I just lubricate the clutch. A lot cheaper. There is an excellent synthetic lubricant available on the site. I've rescued many hp laserjet 4000 error codes a clutch with it, fixed a few scanner motors, and even a few recalcitrant locks. Great stuff. by moe on Aug 12, 2005 at 9:09am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 41.5 is a media feed error. I do not

know why they have that message come up under the laser/scanner area but it should not. First you want to try to feed media from the manual feeder and see if it works ok. My guess is that it will. Most of the time I have seen this issue it has to do with the paper tray separation roller coming off the shaft. That may be you case and then again it may not. If the paper feeds ok from the manual feeder, remove the paper

tray and check the roller in the front of the tray. You may want to remove the roller and then remove the clutch whcih sits behind it. Put the roller back on and see if it works. If it does you need to clean out excess filings from the clutch by slamming the small shaft of the clutch on a hard surface so it separates and remove about 1/3 to 1/2 of the magnetic filings and reassemble. It could also be that your rollers have worn unevenly and so the paper just does not feed right. They sell replacment rollers on this site. I will have to take a look at this clutch next time I am at work to see what its about.. and I am sure i'll understand then why your doing this ....and what the clutch is for ...and what the filings are for... and why removing some may help.. but for now.. can you fill me in on what that is changing to help with the pickup problem? I have never really looked at a paper tray in great detail as I have yet to encounter a problem that required me 2.. lol by Craig on Nov 26, 2004 at 9:40pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Removing some of the filings reduce

laserjet 4000, 4050, 4100 have been great machines in offices since the 1990's. The machines with their strong print engines, durable parts, and rg5-2651-090cn low maintenance requirements have made HP's laserjet printer quality legendary. However, as these machines age more problems are starting to happen. One of the more common error codes in the HP laserjet 4000, 4050, 4100 as they age is http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/25076 the 41.5 printer error. In this article I would like to point out the different parts in the HP 4000, 4050, and 4100 that can cause the 41.5 printer error.Troubleshooting the HP 4000, 4050, 4100 41.5 Printer Error.Several things can cause the 41.5 printer error in the HP laserjet 4000, 4050, and 4100. The easiest one to check is the feed/separation roller in the tray or inside the cassette cavity. Make sure they are properly clipped into http://www.fortwayneprinterrepair.com/wordpress/2011/11/06/41-5-printer-error-hp-laserjet-4000-4050-4100/ place especially the tray roller. Sometimes when cleaning or replacing like when the PM kit is needed people pull the roller out and quickly install the new roller not bothering to check and make sure the roller is clicked into place. It has to mesh with the black torque limiter and the limiter on the opposite site has to mesh with the metal shaft the two parts sits on for proper installation. Second and the most common one I see is the feed assembly behind the tray 1 pick up assembly. I’ve made it a spare part to carry around in my car stock. There really isn’t an easy way to troubleshoot this other than to make sure the feed/separation rollers are properly installed and try to print from tray one and see if the 41.5 printer error happens from that tray. If the 41.5 printer error doesn’t happen from tray 1 then best bet is to replace the feed assembly. The third cause of the 41.5 printer error in the HP laserjet 4000, 4050, and 4100 could be a broken or damaged sensor flag for the feed or registration assembly. One flag sits in the middle of the registration assembly and the other is located behind the feed assembly discussed above. Both parts are on the same assembly but replacement involves removal of the engine board. Conclusion About the 41.5
the hope of making it easier for someone else down the line - we have an HP LaserJet 4050 that suddenly started throwing a 41.5 Printer Error and printing blanks. The fix turned out to be very http://www.motherboardpoint.com/threads/fix-hp-4000-4050-41-5-printer-error-printer-printing-blanks.48507/ easy but if I hadn't figured it out it may have resulted in an expensive service call. My separation roller - the blue & grey roller in the paper tray - had moved out of place. I just pushed it back in place and it was fixed. Here's a page that has pictures of the separation and feed rollers on a 4000 series printer. The separation roller is part of the paper tray and hp laserjet is shown in the lower picture: http://www.printertechs.com/tech/mkinst/mk-4000-7feed.php Hope this helps someone. aardvark, Oct 1, 2003 #1 Advertisements sbuhrow Joined: Jan 11, 2014 Messages: 1 Thank you so much.
