Way to go, Griffith!http://forevergeek.com/apple/ipodupdate_unknownerror1417_on_itunes7fix.phpEssentially,1. Run the update.2. During the updating process, look at the iPod. Assoon as the main menu comes up, disconnect the iPodfrom the dock or cable.3. Wait around 6 seconds, and plug the cable back.4. You should see the pop-up window pause a while, and then it will inform you that the update willcomplete.5. On the iPod's screen, it will show an Apple logoscreen with a progress bar. Once that finishes, theiPod should be updated.omg thank you so much u dont know how long i have been tryin to update my ipod.....thank you it worked Helpful (0) Reply options Link to this post by Joshua Kapellen, Joshua Kapellen Sep 17, 2006 7:27 PM in response to Charles Y Tan Level 1 (25 points) Sep 17, 2006 7:27 PM in response to Charles Y Tan Thanks for the help and paraphrasing the solution inline.
