Avic N4, IPOD Classic, Error code ERROR-AO Started by luv2byte, Sep 14 2008 12:59 AM Please log in to reply 13 replies to this topic #1 luv2byte luv2byte Members 7 posts Posted 14 September 2008 - 12:59 AM When we try to use our Ipod with the Avic-N4 we get the error code of ERROR-AO. We also have an auxillary cable installed and can use the ipod with it without a problem but we cannot use it with the IPOD cable - we get this error: ERROR-AO. How to solve? Back to top #2 Pilwho21 Pilwho21 Members 4 posts Posted 22 October 2008 - 04:43 AM Alright, I'm having the same problem. I called Pioneer three times (because two of the guys had NO clue) and they stated that the N4 will NOT play Iphones, Itouch and Ipod classic. So what I did was bought a older model Ipod (5th gen video Ipod) and now it works fine, video and audio. So depending on your Ipod, that could be your problem. Error-A0 is apparently some sort of error not sending enough power to the Ipod using the IBD-200 cord. Back to top #3 Pilwho21 Pilwho21 Members 4 posts Posted 22 October 2008 - 04:51 AM Just to clarify, Pioneer just never developed their software to work with newer Ipod classics. So your just SOL, and its a MAJOR design flaw from Pioneer. Back to top #4 CamelTowing CamelTowing Established Member Members 1206 posts LocationFairfield, CA Posted 22 October 2008 - 05:34 AM Huh? My classic worked fine with the N4 we used to have on the display. Works with the N5 we have up now too and they are the same except for the nav disks Back to top #5 Pilwho21 Pilwho21 Members 4 posts Posted 22 October 2008 - 11:13 AM It worked fine with the CDI200 cord? was using it in my car for a couple years with no problems, then bought a new car, and installed the deck into my girlfriends car. She has been using it for another year and a half with no problems. I wired it in myesle with a best-buy install kit so I didnt harm the factory wiring. At the same time I installed a pioneer IPod interface. All of which has been working flawlessly for the past couple years in her car and couple more in mine. Yesterday she asked me to look at her cd-player. She said it wouldn't http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/15600-avic-n4-ipod-classic-error-code-error-ao/ eject a disk. Sure enough there was a disk inside there, CD-r to be exact. Its not like its stuck halfway out, its completly inside the drive as if someone insirted it and then switched sources. Funny thing is when I switched sources, it didn't recognize a disk even being inside, it skipped directly from radio to Ipod. It also would not eject the disk. Almost like the http://www.automotiveforums.com/t924244-pionner_head_unit_problem___any_ideas_.html cd deck didnt realize there was a disk inside. So, today I had a little time, so I pulled the radio fuse thinking maybe just a reset would do the trick. Once I put the fuse back in, the deck booted up, and I pushed source. It switched from ipod to radio to cd, and it started to load the cd. Then it stopped and displayed "ERROR A0". Does anyone know what Error A0 means? Now it does it constantly and still will not eject the disk. Funny thing is now.... It still works on ipod and radio. However when I switch to CD, then I push the eject button, the deck resets itself. Its very very odd. Almost like it lost its memory parameters or something. What can I do? I like this deck a-lot, its been great, has great sound, but maybe its time to go. problem is she LOVES her ipod interface and wants to keep it. Any recommendations? Thanks guys, sorry for the long write-up. tblake10-03-2008, 07:38 PMBTW, does anyone have any tricks to remove a pioneer deck without the little removal pieces (I lost them)? I can remove the whole dash again, but if there is

Then the iphone certainly asked me whether I want to switch to the airplane mode, and I said no. The music played immediately,HOWEVER the iphone could not charge (i.e. no lightening symbol), as well as5900IBshowed the message "error a0" with no playlist showing up. I could still change the song by using the navigation button (i.e.by clickingthewheel left or right side) though. Is there any possible solution to this problem? Idon't really want to connect the iphoneto this car stereo via AUX, sincethe sound quality it could provide was obviously inferior to the direct connectionthrough CD-I200. Any suggestion, idea or even rumor on this will be really appreciated.
