I am running iTunes on my Laptop - Windows 7I tried to reset my shuffle but it failed. There is a utility for gen 1 and gen 2 shuffles but I can't find anything for the Generation 4 Shuffle. It doesn't specially state 1437, but same steps can apply.iPod: Cannot restore or update in iTunes with error 1415, 1417, 1418, 1428, 1429, 1430, 1436, or 1439It might help to make sure iTunes is the only running application and that all other USB devices are disconnected from the PC. Search Forums Show Threads Show Posts Advanced Search Topic: ipod died and error 1437 08-07-2010, 03:22 PM #1 windsong Freshman Lounger Join Date: Aug 2010 Posts: 1 ipod died and error 1437 permalink i charged my ipod nano 5g for a few hours until it was fully charged. later i listened to it for 30-45 minutes and then shut it off and put it on hold or lock or whatever thats called. when i tried to turn it on by unlocking it, it stayed off and wont turn on. i plugged it into my computer and it took a while for itunes to recognize it then it said it is corrupt so i tried restoring it but halfway through it said the error 1437 thing. also it doesnt charge when i plug it in, the screen stays dark. Do you have a USB power adapter, like the one that comes with iPhone (or other device). If you do, try charging shuffle there to see if using a power-only connection makes a difference. If it still appears in iTunes, you can try doing a Restore on shuffle using iTunes, in case it's a software issue.
