It indicates that some standard path is incorrectly set.Open regedit and navigate to the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders - what is the path of the Favorites entry? Yesterday I made the jump and D/L and installed EMC9! During my attempt to install it, I ran into a problem. When the install wizard got to the "computing disk space" part, a pop-up would come up with the following information: Error 1325: Favorites is not a valid short file name. I thought WTF..... After closer examination, I saw that the favorite display option had been disabled on my desktop. The simple solution was to go into Start/Properties, re-enable the display favorite, reboot, and voila! Clean install all the way!
