I am currently trying to get data from DB2 database using Entity Framework 4. I have a simple code like: using (DBEntities ent = new DBEntities()) { foreach (Company comp in ent.COMPANIES) { listBox1.Items.Add(comp.Address); } } I encountered this exception: ERROR 42703 IBMDB2/NT SQL0206N "EXTENT1.COMPANY_ID" is not valid in the context where it is used. I am pretty sure that there is no "EXTENT1.COMPANY_ID" anywhere in my database but there is a "CMS.COMPANY_ID". Maybe its the way EF generates SQL, but i am not sure. Please help. The sql is generated by data provider which is a third party data provider, so I cannot reproduce your problem on my side. I recommend you try this forum: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/forums/forum.jspa?forumID=467&start=0 In addition, the "EXTENT1" I think is the a more explicit way of mentioning the alias of ent.COMPANIES. You can find more information on this page: http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/db2luw/v9r7/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.swg.im.dbclient.adonet.doc%2Fdoc%2Fc0054118.html A related page: http://www.dbforums.com/db2/1684959-ibm-db2-9-sql0206n-entitycommandexecutionexception-colname-not-valid-cont.html Have a nice day.Alexander Sun [MSFT] MSDN Community Support | Feedback to us Marked as answer by Alexander Sun Tuesday, October 23, 2012 9:04 AM Thursday, October 18, 2012 6:10 AM Reply | Quote Microsoft is conducting an online survey to understand your opinion of the Msdn Web site.
