The second one has a capital 'F'. Have you definitely included the script correctly and after jQuery? –Rup Nov 26 '10 at 10:55 What do your script tags look like? –Nick Craver♦ Nov 26 '10 jquery typeerror is not a function at 10:55 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote Since the PNG issue is specific to IE (and only older versions of it at that), I'd avoid using a solution like a jQuery plugin where all browsers would need to run at least some code. A solution like the original iepngfix.htc is more elegant since it uses an IE-specific feature (CSS behaviors), so only IE will even see it, meaning the other browsers don't have to run any unnecessary code. Having said all that, if you still want to use the jQuery solution (and there are occasions when it may be better), the answer is probably what @Rup said in the comments - check that you've spelt the function name correctly, including capital letters. On examples on the pages you linked, one of them specifies the function call as .pngfix() (with a lower case 'f'), but the other one specifies .pngFix() (upper case 'f'). ps - you've got my sympathy if you're still having to develop code to support IE6 :( share|improve this answer answered Nov 26 '10 at 11:34 Spudley 117k28159241 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Emai

I am pulling it at the header the following way and then calling the function in separate .js file: but my page just gets frozen in IE6 sometimes, like it http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5018154/jquery-pngfix-js-is-making-page-frozen cant load something but there is no errors and nothing is missing although if i disable the jquery.pngFix.js the problem is gone. Has anyone ever met such issue with that plugin? The only solution i could come up with for now is to place the plugin right at the bottom of the page to wait until the page is loaded and it seems to work for me but i wonder if there is a better way of doing this? scriptjQuery(function(){if ($().pngFix) {$(document).pngFix();}}); Thanks. javascript jquery png iepngfix share|improve this question asked Feb 16 '11 at 15:11 devjs11 71522456 1 Easy solution: Do not support IE6 :) –ThiefMaster♦ Feb 16 '11 at 15:15 Are you trying to load the pngFix script file before jQuery? That won't work! –Matt Ball Feb 16 '11 at 15:16 no, its loading after jquery –devjs11 Feb 16 '11 at 15:26 2 @ThiefMaster, I am assuming you meant that as a joke, but just in case others don't read it that way...
