Wednesday, August 01, 2012 4:40 PM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote I would start by verifying that the /ReportingWebService resource is properly configured in IIS. Correct configurations can be found in the WSUS Technical Reference Guide: IIS Settings for WSUS 3.0 SP2 Web Services.Lawrence Garvin, M.S., MCITP:EA, MCDBA, MCSA Product Manager, SolarWinds Microsoft MVP - Software Distribution (2005-2012) My MVP Profile: http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile/Lawrence.Garvin Thursday, August 02, 2012 2:42 PM Reply | Quote Moderator Microsoft is conducting an online survey to understand your opinion of the Technet Web site. we installed and configured PowerView for SharePoint 2013, we have constantly run into stability issue when creating Power View report. the wsus administration console was unable to connect to the wsus server via the remote api. I've tried the update services failed its initialization and stopped. following two different ways people mentioned but not be able to resolve the issues. Check Rssrvpolicy.config file mentioned by Mike Yin Change the Enable 32-Bit https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/222714e1-1d12-4acd-b059-a923be110692/event-id-12002-the-reporting-web-service-is-not-working-error-occurs-after-reboot-on-wsus-server?forum=winserverwsus Applications property of the IIS application pool for the SharePoint web application to False published in PrologikaForums (Note this will stop app pool and make it unstable!) If you check the ULS log, it will show the following error: "System.ServiceModel.ServiceActivationException: The requested service, 'http://spsbx15:32843/586f5b2b0ac34da6b57e9dd817fa06d3/ReportingWebService.svc' could not be activated. See the http://sharepointconnoisseur.blogspot.com/2014/07/how-to-resolve-requested-service-http.html server's diagnostic trace logs for more information." This seems to point to the reporting web service issue from this log. After review the SQL Server Reporting Services 2012 SharePoint integrated mode Endpoints architecture, I found the solution is to restart the app pool that is running report service. Here isthe details procedure to found the app pool that is running report service. 1. First run the PowerShell command to identify reporting service reporting service process ID. PS C:\> Get-SPRSServiceApplication Name Id UEAccountName ---- -- ------------- Reporting Web Service 586f5b2b-0ac3-4da6-b57e-9dd817fa06d3 You could verify the report web service status using the ID but remove all the "-" inside to construct the following URL. You will see nothing will be displayed. The port # can be found in steps below. http://spsbx15:32843/586f5b2b0ac34da6b57e9dd817fa06d3/ReportingWebService.svc 2. Browse IIS manager "SharePoint Web Services" with this ID and click "Advanced Settings..." to identify application pool ID

Rename the Windows Update related temporary folder: net stop wuauserv ren %windir%\SoftwareDistribution %windir%\SoftwareDistribution.old net start wuauserv 2. Download and install the latest WUAgent 3. Rename the catroot2 folder: net stop cryptsvc ren %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 oldcatroot2 net start cryptsvc ------------------------------------------- Removed The Client ID Reg Entries from the registry and Reset Authorization and Tried to Detect. No Go... I can download the CAB Files if I copy and paste the URL's into the Browser on the servers that have the issue. Genuinely Stumped here.. Here is the last Entry from the log: 2016-01-26 14:12:25:413 5780 171c PT Server URL = http://
