Adding the following confine to dhcp_servers.rb works a charm: confine do Facter::Core::Execution.exec("nmcli -t -f STATE g").strip != 'unknown' end Show Trevor Vaughan added a comment - 2014/11/02 5:53 PM This is still an issue. I just did a https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1563928 dual boot on my mac book with ubuntu and mac os x. i had previously did an installation on my windows7 and I loved it. so my mac was next. But for some reason, network manager is not working! I get the message, "networkmanager is not running". Even though wireless connection works when I switch to mac. It doesn't even detect a connection. I've been googling for a long time and no avail. If anyone can please help me, it would be appreciated. I am a new ubuntu user and I don't know how to fix it. Again, thank you for your help. Last edited by Iowan; August 31st, 2010 at 02:16 AM. If it asks for your password, type it in and press Enter again. You won't see any kind of visual feedback when doing this. Code: service NetworkManager start chkconfig --level 345 NetworkManager on email: me@rory.sh IRC: blazemore@freenode Adv Reply August 30th, 2010 #3 squ

This results in Vagrant's process of initialising the VM to be aborted (a side effect of which is that the /vagrant shared folder is left unmounted. The error output is as follows: ! which nmcli is not running >/dev/null 2>&1 || nmcli c reload enp0s8 Stdout from the command: Stderr from the command: Error: NetworkManager is not running. Despite the error you can vagrant ssh into the running VM. You can then gain root and run the following command on the box to fix the initialisation process: # systemctl enable NetworkManager.service and then reinitialise from the host operating system as follows: $ vagrant reload my_vm | don't know whether this potential solution fits within the desired scope of responsibilities for Vagrant, but maybe plugins/guests/fedora/cap/configure_networks.rb could try enabling NetworkManger after the nmcli command fails and try again? I understand that this would be working around a potential bug elsewhere though. fedorovdima commented Nov 6, 2015 I'm working with RHEL7-based Linux where NetworkManager is not used and thus is disabled. However it is installed, so ! which nmcli >/dev/null 2>&1 results in 1 (true) and Vagrant's process of initializing the VM is aborted with the same error "Error: NetworkManager is not running." I have fixed it with the following patch to vagrant/plugins/guests/fedora/cap/configure_networks.rb: diff --git a/plugins/guests/fedora/ca
