If the daemon is not running (as in this case), it can usually be restarted by running 'vxconfigd -k'. If Volume Manager kernel modules are not loaded, however, this can fail with an error indicating that '/dev/vx/info' does not exist. First check to see if vxconfigd is running:# ps -ef | grep vxconfigdIf it is not running (or it's running, but probably stuck), then enter the following to start it# vxconfigd -k -x syslogWhile trying to start the vxconfigd daemon, it is possible to get error messages like these: cannot open /dev/vx/config or volboot file not loaded.
