configuring samba to share printer to Win A 5 star hangout for overworked and underpaid system admins. So server is 64bit rhel6 running CUPS and parallel port Epson printer . Pretty confident CUPS config is correct as I can print from is not all other linux machines as well as Mac OS ( which runs cups as well) . Problem lies with Win clients which I wanted to print via samba . I have started both smb and nmb (not sure if I need this one ) services . My plan is to only share the printer on samba , and not files nor folders , so I is not connected have not configured any smbusers or passwords . My smb.conf is like this :[global] hosts allow = 192.168.1. 127. load printers = yes cups options = raw; printcap name = /etc/printcap #obtain list of printers automatically on SystemV; printcap name = lpstat printing = cups printcap name = cups[printers] comment = All Printers path = /var/spool/samba browseable = no guest ok = yes writable = no printable = yes printer = Epson[Epson] comment = Epson 1270 printable = yes path = /var/spool/samba public = yes guest ok = yesBut at the moment no joy . Windows can not see the printer . All selinux settings are disabled . Firewall has been opened for ports 137-139 and 445 . Excerpt from /var/log/messages shows :Mar 15 22:18:40 gateway smbd[20400]: [2011/03/15 22:18:40.756849, 0] lib/util_sock.c:474(read_fd_with_timeout)Mar 15 22:18:40 gateway smbd[20401]: [2011/03/15 22:18:40.756879, 0] lib/util_sock.c:474(read_fd_with_timeout)Mar 15 22:18:40 gateway smbd[20401]: [2011/03/15 22:18:40.756971, 0] lib/util_sock.c:1432(get_peer_addr_internal)Mar 15 22:18:40 gateway smbd[20400]: [2011/03/15 22:18:40.756975, 0] lib/util_sock.c:1432(get_peer_addr_internal)Mar 15 22:18:40 gateway smbd[20401]: getpeername failed.
