I have been trying to get my ISA server 2006 running on Server 2003 R2 w/AD to authenticate users via IIS. The problem is this: I have a web site that requres users to log into specific areas as well as hosting general public areas on the same site. i also have other sites hosted on this same install of IIS. I can not seem to get the ISA server to pass the authentication along no matter what I try. I keep getting this same error: Error Code: 403 Forbidden. ISA Server is configured to block HTTP requests that require authentication. (12250) I am not sure if ISA is even trying to contact the PDC of LDAP or whatever for authentication. I tried ever scenario of listener/rule configuration I know of. I can get the web sites to dosplay properly but when a link is clicked to the passworded section is get 1 of two things...if i have the authenticatino off i get this: Error Code: 403 Forbidden. The server denied the specified Uniform Resource Locator (URL). Contact the server administrator. (12202) If I turn any authentication on I get this: Error Code: 403 Forbidden. ISA Server is configured to block HTTP requests that require authentication. (12250) This one no part of the site at all comes in. The above error with the URL allows the sites to be displayed until I click a link t

ISA 2006 Reverse Proxy servers in conjunction with Microsoft Exchange 2003 or Windows Exchange 2007. Today I configured ISA 2006 with Exchange 2007. I configured the Reverse Proxy server as I did always. And the connection from outside the network http://www.booches.nl/2008/07/isa-2006-authentication-over-http/ works perfectly. On the internal Exchange server I configured Basic and Integrated Authentication on the https://social-technetb-msft-us1.vtv.stillw.com/Forums/en-US/home?searchTerm=Forefront%20TMG%20is%20configured%20to%20block%20HTTP%20requests%20that%20require%20authentication OWA virtual directory. The problem is that internal users now automatically log in to their webmail box when entering the URL from the Exchange server. This is not the desired configuration, because internal users should be able to open other people's mailboxes by logging in as that user. The customer also has an ISA 2006 on the internal isa error network for forwarding proxy purposes. I decided to publish Exchange 2007 on the internal ISA 2006 server as well. The configuration should use Form Based Authentication (FBA) over HTTP. After configuring and trying the connection, the user can't access the ISA logon page. In the logging you find that Authentication over HTTP isn't allowed. Error Code: 403 Forbidden. ISA Server is configured to block HTTP requests that require authentication. (12250) This is a isa error 12250 default setting in ISA 2006 which can be disable. To allow Authentication over HTTP go to the Listener configuration. Go to the Authentication tab and Select Advanced. In the next tab enable the option Allow client authentication over HTTP. This option enables the using FBA over HTTP. The following two tabs change content below.BioLatest Posts René JorissenCo-owner and Solution Specialist at 4IP Solutions René Jorissen works as Solution Specialist for 4IP in the Netherlands.
