Standard. I can get to the internet on this server with Explorer configured to not use a Proxy. If I configure Explorer to use a proxy it does not retrieve the web page (used www.msn.com) I have also tried from a Windows 2000 client and get the same no show result. I have not configured any rules on the ISA server. The web proxy service is running. Any ideas? Please help if you can. p.s. Whats the difference betwen the ISA forum and this one? Top The gateway could not retrieve the requested page by billblom_M » Wed, 25 Feb 2004 05:16:52 Major: Your ISA needs to have several rules set up, and packet filtering enabled. You also need to verify that the https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/91386fa2-e2f8-4ed4-bba8-a39d06993567/isa-server-2000-blocked-to-access-hp-website?forum=winserversecurity "external" network card does not have file & print bound to it. Your IE on the server needs to reference the inside NIC on the isa server. Have you set up the Local Address Table? That needs to be done for the services to operate properly. Next, you will need a Site and Content rule under access policy. As a starting point, I'd suggest an "Allow any request" type rule. You can tighten things up later. The last step: You will need a protocol http://www.yqcomputer.com/146_5097_1.htm rule that allows web traffic to go out. As a first step, make the rule a "All IP traffic". We can drop protocols that aren't needed after you get the server working. The inside nic needs to reference your Internal Domain Controllers for DNS. The outside NIC doesn't really need to be registered in DNS. I've found issues in the past when I put the ISP's DNS server addresses in. That can cause problems if the domain name is the same inside and out, so I generally recommend not giving that NIC a DNS server address. Your outgoing web request listener is port 8080 by default. Make sure that IE is using the correct port. Let me know how this works. Thank you Bill Blomgren [MSFT] This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties and confers no rights.
