there a Windows version of PowerTunes? PowerTunes is a Mac OS X only program, and there are no current plans for a Windows version. When I copy music to another library, why is the "Date Added" field is not transferred over along with all itunes library cannot be saved the required file cannot be found the other track metadata? Unfortunately, iTunes does not allow modification of the Date Added field,

new tracks into an iTunes library, those tracks will always have the current date set for their Date Added value. iTunes is displaying a message saying "The iTunes Library file cannot be saved. An unknown error occurred https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1912814?start=30& (-54)." What does that mean? The most common cause of this is when you have an iTunes library that is open by two copies of iTunes at the same time. This can happen if you share a library between multiple user accounts, or use the same library from two or more computers across a network. If this is the case, you will need to quit all but one copy of iTunes that has that library https://www.fatcatsoftware.com/powertunes/Help/frequently%20asked%20questions.html open. I was performing a long copy/merge operation that was halted, saying a timeout occurred trying to quit iTunes. The most common cause of this is when iTunes has opened up an alert or other window that has not been dismissed. This includes the iTunes preferences window, the info window showing details of a track, or an alert asking a question that requires a response. If one of these windows is up, then iTunes will not quit or respond to any other commands sent to it by PowerTunes until you dismiss the window in question. Some common settings you can change to prevent this from happening are: Change your podcast downloading to manual. iTunes will sometimes automatically start downloading new podcasts in the middle of a copy operation. If podcasts are still downloading when iTunes is asked to quit, it will put up an alert asking the user whether they want to finish downloading before quitting. This will prevent iTunes from quitting. Similarly, automatic downloading of album artwork with put up an alert if artwork is being downloaded when iTunes is asked to quit. Automatic artwork downloading can be turned off in iTunes preferences. (note: this preference has been removed in iTunes 8) iTunes will also still update its artwork cache for new imports, which leads to a similar message,
file cannot be saved"? Here's a fix by Dennis Burger on February 26, 2011 at 1:45 pm Sections: Apple Software, Features, How-To, iTunes, Mac Software, Operating Systems, Originals, Windows Tweet 45 "The iTunes Music Library file cannot be saved. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation." Those words have http://www.technologytell.com/apple/68617/itunes-library-file-cannot-be-saved-heres-a-fix/ plagued my nightmares for the past week. I generally consider myself a rather http://www.finetunedmac.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=21500 computer-savvy fellow, but that error kept popping up in iTunes, seemingly out of nowhere, and I couldn't find a fix for the error after days of trying. Which left me, of course, unable to add new music to my library, and meant that I was constantly re-downloading the same podcasts over and over. I began itunes library my search for a fix in the C:UsersDennisMusiciTunes directory, since that's where my iTunes library files reside (I'm on Windows 7, by the way), and noticed that "Temp File.tmp" had no "owner." Despite trying every known fix in the book (including contacting Apple and Microsoft tech support), nothing I tried would resolve the situation. I scoured the ‘net in search of a solution, and found more than a few itunes library cannot helpless iTunes users with the same problem, but none of the suggested fixes helped in my case. Thank the Force, I've finally stumbled upon a solution, and it has nothing to do with the "Temp File.tmp" file, or anything else in that directory, for that matter. If you're having the same problem, here's what worked for me (again, in Windows 7): Navigate to the directory in which iTunes is installed (most likely C:Program Files (x86)iTunes) Right lick on iTunes.exe and select "Properties" Under the Security tab, select "Edit" Under "Group or user names," select your user name (or if your user name isn't there, select "Add" and add it Make sure "Full Control" is checked under "Permissions for…" Click "Apply" I have no idea how my user name lost Full control access under iTunes, especially given that I haven't installed anything related to iTunes in the past few weeks (I suspect my antivirus software may be to blame). Whatever the cause, this resolved my situation lickety split. 45 TAGS: appletell how to, gadgetell, hometechtell, itunes, itunes access privileges, itunes fix, itunes permissions, the itunes library file cannot be saved. you do not have enough access privleges for this operation, windows 7 itunes Related Articles Tama
