had to do the following steps. Note: You will have to rebuild your iTunes library after performing these steps. All ratings, playlists, etc will be lost. The media files you own should still be available on your hard drive though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMT0XFxJLrY Navigate to where the iTunes Library.itl file is located. OS X - /Users/username/Music Windows XP - C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music Windows Vista - C:\Users\username\Music Windows 8 or 7 - C:\Users\username\My Music Delete the iTunes Library file. Start iTunes. Your music database will now be blank, but your music files should still be available in the iTunes Music folder located in one of the locations noted above. Drag and drop the iTunes Music folder and any other http://www.technipages.com/itunes-the-file-itunes-library-itl-cannot-be-read-fix folders that contain your music files to the iTunes application window. iTunes should then take some time to rebuild the database of music. This fix may not make you completely happy since there is some loss of data, but it's the only solution I could find for myself. When trying to open the iTunes node in the TRAKTOR Browser, you may receive the following error message in TRAKTOR's Status Bar: Could not find iTunes library ! There can be two reasons for this: TRAKTOR cannot find the iTunes library file in the specified location iTunes does not share its XML library file with the file itunes other applications TRAKTOR Cannot find the iTunes Library File TRAKTOR needs to be pointed to the file "iTunes Music Library.xml", which iTunes provides in order to enable third-party access to its library. If this file or any aspect of its path is altered, TRAKTOR cannot find it and you will get the error message shown above. Note: Some versions of iTunes under Mac OS X Lion and Mountain Lion name this file "iTunes Library.xml". More information on this can be found here. To resolve this, please open the File Management tab in TRAKTOR`s Preferences and click on the exclamation mark next to the iTunes Music Library path. The default iTunes folder will be opened automatically. It`s located here: OS X: Macintosh HD > User > *User Name* > Music > iTunes PC: C: > Users > *User Name* > Music > iTunes Note: If you are not using the default location for your iTunes folder, you can look up the currently used path in the Advanced Preferences of iTunes. file cannot be saved" Kiran | Apr 21, 2014 | How Tos, iTunes | No Comments Some common fixes for "iTunes library file cannot be saved" issue Some users receive the error message “iTunes library file cannot be saved” in iTunes 7 and 8. Among the things that you can do to fix the issue is to rebuild the iTunes library, but this is the least thing to try only in case that is the only option left. Solution 1 First, try to restart your computer and see if the issue is not solved. If you continue to receive the same error message, one possible solution for the “iTunes library file cannot be saved” error message is to try the following steps: First stop the application. Then start iTunes by keeping the Alt key pressed down, so it will offer the options “Choose Library” and “Create Library”. From the two options choose to create a new library and then stop the iTunes app again. Restart iTunes by keeping the Alt key pressed down and select “Choose Library” option this time. Choose the main library. Now you will not have any temporary files left in the iTunes folder and the issue should be solved. You will be able to save your file without receiving the error message again. Solution 2 The error message notifying you the your file cannot be saved in iTunes may be accompanied by the explication that the reason is you do not have enough privilege access in order to complete this operation. You may try to reinstall the iTunes application after you backup your full iTunes library. But first try to solve the permission issue and make sure that both the folders iTunes library and iTunes have the right permissions. Try the following steps that might solve your permission issue: Go to your iTunes folder and right click on it. Select Properties, go the Security tab and click on the Edit button. Click on Continue in order to get to the User Access Control. Select your User and
