Sunday, November 16, 2008 5:16 PM Reply | Quote Answers 1 Sign in to vote Hi, Based on the attribute name msDFSR-ComputerReferenceBL, I believe that the domain function level has been raised to Windows Server 2008. Therefore, the KB article Q312862 may not apply to your environment. The error means that the value of the attribute msDFSR-ComputerReferenceBL is not correct. You can verify it by performing the following steps: 1. On the Domain Controller, open Active Directory Users and Computers console. 2. In the console, select Domain Controllers, and then double-click the DC object AD2008 in the right

Windows 2000 dfsr migration has not yet initialized Server and Windows Server 2003 use File Replication Service (FRS) to replicate SYSVOL, whereas Windows Server 2008 uses the newer DFS Replication service when in domains that use https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/2ce07c3f-9956-4bec-ae46-055f311c5d96/dcdiag-test-failed-on-verifyenterprisereferences?forum=winserverDS the Windows Server 2008 domain functional level, and FRS for domains that run older domain functional levels. To use DFS Replication to replicate the SYSVOL folder, you can either create a new domain that uses the Windows Server 2008 domain functional level, or you can use the procedure that is discussed in this article to upgrade an existing http://www.showmehowtodoit.com/step-by-step-frs-to-dfsr-migration-guide-for-windows-2008-and-2008-r2/ domain and migrate replication to DFS Replication. I demoted all Windows 2003/2008 (they are all gone). I raised forest and domain functional level to Windows 2012. I am not experiencing any problem. Everything is just smooth and wonderful. I am ldap error about to transition to Exchange server 2013 from Exchange 2010. One of the preparation is to run: Dcdiag /v /c /d /e /s:DCName >c:\dcdiag.log I get the following errors in the DCDIAG. DNS... It starts with DNS... 323 Views Last Post 21 September 2015 kurtbuff posted this 15 September 2015 All,I'm looking for a way forward with my troubleshooting. I outline theproblems I'm seeing below, but I'll ask my questions up front:o- Can/should I just delete the extraneous msdcs zone, and will thatfix some/all of the problems I'm seeing?o- If no on the first count, how should I proceed?o- If no on the second count, what else should I be looking at?Thanks,KurtI've been noticing errors in the DNS event log, which I startedinvestigating after some firewall and other anomalies. What I'm seeingare 4010 and 4015 errors. 4010 (DNS-Server-Service) unable to create resource record for 6801a104-1998-42ac-adc0-6c5054859430.msdcs.example.com. in zone example.com. The Active Directory definition of this resource record is corrupt or contains an invalid DNS name. 4015 (DNS-Server-Service) The DNS server has encountered a critical error from the Active Directory. Check that the Active Directory is functioning properly.I'm also seeing an extraneous and grayed-out _msdcs zone underneaththe forward zone for example.com. This extra zone has only a singlerecord in it, for the DC that's currently holding all of the FSMOroles. We have three offices, the US office (one 2008R2 DC, one 2012R2 DC),and the overseas offices (each with a single 2008R2 DC), and have asingle forest, single domain environment. We recently (within the past 4 months) elevated our FFL/DFL 2003Native to 2008R2. What I was not aware of at the time was that priorto this the _msdcs zone was only under the domain zone, and was notout at the forest root. The other admin manually created the _msdcszone at the forest root - it's likely he didn't follow good procedurefor this.I've run 'dcdiag /e /c /f:c:\temp\diag.txt' on the DC with all of theFSMO roles on it (it's USDC5, a 2008R2 machine) and have thatavailable in toto if required - I've sanitized it to change the domainname, but have not changed internal IP addresses, etc. There are someerrors in it, but I didn't want to clog the list with the entireoutput. However, the errors below concern me:I see this for all of the DCs, and I can't make sense of the KBarticle after looking it over: [1] Problem:
