support PagedResultsControl extension. Working of pagination during LiveCycle sync from an LDAP server In LiveCycle, users and ldap_search search critical extension is unavailable groups are synched from an LDAP server in batches of 200. When the results returned from an LDAP server is >= 200, then an AutoDetectionLogic is automatically enabled. ldap error codes This AutoDetectionLogic seeing that the LDAP server is SunOne, automatically disables paging. This AutoDetectionLogic seeing that the LDAP server is AD or non-SunOne, automatically enables paging. Issue There have been cases where an Enterprise has a proxy server in between which acts as Active Directory but the ultimate LDAP server running behind is SunOne. In such a scenario, the AutoDetectionLogic is forced to enable paging because of the proxy server acting as Active Directory. Hence, when the communication ultimately happens with SunOne, we get the error and sync fails. Fix In such a scenario, the AutoDetecitonLogic has to be turned off so that LiveCycle doesn't send any pagination requests. One should follow the steps mentioned below to disable paging permanently. you enable the listener and you get the error: "[LDAP: error code 12 - Unavailable Critical Extension]" Boo! Turns out that when you configured your LDAP server ages ago, you may have set the 'Vendor' field to be 'Active Directory' because, hey, that was the http://blogs.adobe.com/apugalia/ldap-error-code-12-unavailable-critical-extension/ default or you wanted to see if changing the vendor field did anything. Since it didn't, you may have forgotten to change it back. It doesn't help that the server configuration page doesn't show this field (so you probably want to http://siwike.blogspot.com/2014/06/ldap-error-code-12-unavailable-critical.html add it back to the page). After changing the vendor to 'Other' (the only other choice), the error doesn't seem to be occurring now. Now, the fun part to see how persistent search interacts on imports. at 7:41 AM No comments: Post a Comment Newer Post Older Post Home Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom) Popular Posts Dell XPS 8500 esxcli swiscsi nic add - or how not to handle errors locked Dell U2711 monitor Linux, Multipathing, EqualLogic and me EMC VNXe HP order tracking Dell T3600 Workstation Dell Latitude E6500 virtualization BIOS option Dell T3600, Windows 8, UEFI, and me Windows 7 and the LaserJet CM2320fxi MFP Search This Blog (c) 2011 All rights reserved. The CA PPM applicationLDAP code fetches the search results in "batches" (pagination). This allows us to get a large number of user set from the directory servers. In order to do this we do use some control extensions. One way to instruct our code to not use this new "pagination" technique is to set the Batch Size parameter to 0. When it is set to 0 we do not perform any pagination and fetch the results in old fashioned way - all in one shot.
