only takes a few minutes. Join Now I'm having a hard time trying to identify the issue... So far I've ran following tests without any errors, on both the PDC and a second DC, which both give the "LDAP error 81 (Server Down) Win32 Err 58" error after running "repadmin /showrepl /all /verbos": repadmin /replsum dcdiag /test:dns /s: /DnsBasic dcdiag /v /c /d /e /s: repadmin /syncall repadmin /showrepl * also used the AD Replication Status Tool - no errors detected. ldap error code: 81 airwatch Reply Subscribe   13 Replies Thai Pepper OP britv8 Oct 3, 2014 at 1:00 UTC OS version? any old dcs in the repladmin? 0 Sonora OP Joseph9297 Oct 3, 2014 at 2:12 UTC oh, yea... sorry. I posted two separate questions about these DCs and forgot to mention OS version on this one. 7 DCs, all running windows server 2003, the PDC is STANDARD R2,SP2, others are STANDARD or ENTERPRISE, R1 SP2. we are migrating from windows 2003 to windows server 2008 r2. We have installed two DC/GC with Server 2008 R2, after upgrading the schema and the AD, and https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/596809-can-t-find-cause-for-ldap-error-81-server-down-win32-err-58 now we have event id 1202 every minute. When we run the repadmin /showrepl we have a message what indicate the "ldap error 81 (server down) win32 err 58" The replication fails from the others DC/GC windows 2003Raulito Monday, April 16, 2012 8:25 PM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote The problem was https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/97d10dd2-8bcf-42f1-9daf-9bdf0715ff1e/ldap-error-81-server-down-win32-err-58-in-windows-server-2008-r2-upgrading-from-windows-2k3?forum=winserverDS solved, in one of the GC 2003 I've run replmon and forced the replication, and then the replication works!.
