Ldap Local Error 82

Ldap Error 82(0x52) Local Error
Windows 2012 Domain Controller called AVHDCBDC01 AVHDCADC01 has all FSMO Roles, is a Domain Controller and is working correctly. AVHDCBDC01 has been turned off for a significant period of time, and now it has been turned back on, AD is not working - the last successful replication occurred in microsoft ldap error codes February, so I'm imagining some kind of Tombstoning has occurred, but I'm really not sure about this so I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. I am confident the IP configurations are correct, running the command "repadmin /showrepl * /errorsonly" on AVHDCBDC01 gives the following results: C:\Users\Administrator.AVH>repadmin /showrepl * /errorsonly Repadmin: running command /showrepl against full DC AVHDCADC01.avh.local LDAP error 82 (Local Error) Win32 Err 8341. So far http://stackoverflow.com/questions/17068602/ad-operation-with-systemdirectoryservices-fails-with-ldap-error-82 I've ran following tests without any errors, on both the PDC and a second DC, which both give the "LDAP error 81 (Server Down) Win32 Err 58" error after running "repadmin /showrepl /all /verbos": repadmin /replsum dcdiag /test:dns /s: /DnsBasic dcdiag /v /c /d /e /s: repadmin /syncall repadmin /showrepl * also used the AD Replication Status Tool - no ldap error errors detected. I posted two separate questions about these DCs and forgot to mention OS version on this one. 7 DCs, all running windows server 2003, the PDC is STANDARD ldap error 82 R2,SP2, others are STANDARD or ENTERPRISE, R1 SP2. When you say old dcs... if my comment above doesn't answer that question and you are referring to physical age, yes. I do have one physical box that has been around for 11 years. The others are all virtual - I do not know their actual "age". The PDC has only been in service a few years. 0 Thai Pepper OP Helpful Post britv8 Oct 4, 2014 at 8:55 UTC Old DCs - I mean dcs that no longer exist in real life, but exist in AD (e.g. under NTDS settings for servers in sites and services) This gives you a bit of an idea of what I mean. http://blogs.technet.com/b/askds/archive/2010/01/27/dcdiag-advertising-test-with-error-81.aspx Example in this one was a DC that was turned off, but not properly demoted, and another DC was built with the same name Verify what the issue actually is before rushing into adsiedit.msc And even before that, make sure you have a windows/NT backup of your system drive of your server holding the FSMO roles, (and a system state backup)cause if you screw up in adsiedit , your in a world of pain 0 Sonora OP Joseph9297 Oct 7, 2014 at 1:21 UTC I found a few DCs where isGlob

On our dev server all behaves as expected, however moving this to the prod server any operation which is using directoryservices to create an LDAP bind is failing with LDAP error 82. When we run Microsoft network monitor we can see the dev server is using activeds.dll and the failing prod server is using ntdsapi.dll. Our currently thinking is something in the name resolution for the production server as both were failing until we added the domain controller to the hosts file (after this was removed the accountmanagement calls continued to succeed) Does anyone know more any detail on the cause of LDAP 82 (local error)? What would cause the switch between the activeds and ntdsapi libraries at run-time? visual-c++ active-directory share|improve this question asked Jun 12 '13 at 14:51 Andy March 181215 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote accepted In the end the key t
