I created a protocol rule and a packet filter to allow LDAP traffic. I can telnet the Ldap directory (telnet xxx.xxx.fr 389) and I can connect with ldp.exe and softera LDAP browser but when I try to access the directory with Windows address book (ldap://xxx.xxx.fr/), I receive this message : "the specified directory service could not be reached". I don't understand why. Thanks for your help. I'm trying to use LDAP to interface with my http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1543572 Domain Controller(s) (DC01/DC02) to use the functionalities in an Application I'm developing. Here's basically a run down of what I did: Created an account (test) in AD Intentionally locked the account out with bad password attempts Tried to run my program to unlock it And thats as far as I got in that stage. I checked into the errors, it said it "Couldn't find the domain". I've tried ldap error simply typing "LDAP://DC=(My Domain),DC=NET" into an explorer search, and it says it cannot find my Domain. However, when I use the built-in Windows Application (ldp.exe), it connects to my Domain controller just fine. I'm really confused guys, can anyone clear this up for me? Am I typing the LDAP address wrong or am I just going crazy? Any particular reason you're trying to do this in LDAP rather than something like powershell? Yeah, I'm using VB.NET to interface with my Domain. It uses the System.DirectoryServices namespace, I'm still new to it all though.. But I was logged in as a Domain Administrator on one of the servers, and typed "LDAP://DC=(domain name),DC=net" into the explorer bar, and up came the search box as expected. I tried to search for my PC in the search box, and I got this error: "The specified directory service could not be reached. The service may be temporarily unava
