This AutoDetectionLogic seeing that the LDAP server is AD or non-SunOne, automatically enables paging. Issue There have been cases where an Enterprise has a proxy server in between which acts as Active Directory but the ultimate LDAP server running behind is SunOne. In such a scenario, the AutoDetectionLogic is forced to enable paging because of the proxy server acting as Active Directory. Hence, when the communication ultimately happens with SunOne, we get the error and sync fails. Fix In such a scenario, the AutoDetecitonLogic has to be turned off so that LiveCycle doesn't send any pagination requests. One should follow the steps mentioned below to disable paging permanently. Login to AdminUI with administrator credentials. Navigate to Home > Settings > User Management > Configuration > Manual Configuration Export the config.xml to file system. Either the server does not support the control or the control is not appropriate for the operation type. The CA PPM applicationLDAP code fetches the search results in "batches" (pagination). This allows us to get a http://www.ca.com/us/support/ca-support-online/product-content/knowledgebase-articles/tec439052.aspx large number of user set from the directory servers. In order to do this we do use some control extensions. One way to instruct our code to not use this new "pagination" technique is to set the Batch Size parameter to 0. When it is set to 0 we do not perform any pagination and fetch the results in old fashioned way - all in one shot. Now that the server has been ldap error rebuilt some of my 200 users are reporting that the ldap address book in outlook returns an 'Unavailable Critical Extenion' error when they try to open it. Outlook setup; server = domain.com username domain\email password xxxxxxx port 389 search base dc=domain,dc=com As you can see, the server is the domain unavailable critical extension name which resolves to the first responing DC (I have 2 DC's on this site, hence why only some of my users are reporting this error) The weird thing is that if I change the search base to cn=users,dc=domain,dc=com then it returns all the users in the users ou. This however isn't suitable as I need to return the restuls for the whole domain. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance Friday, October 21, 2011 10:10 AM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote I checked with our Outlook experts and they suggested the following information: Please test the information in the following article as Outlook maybe trying to use LVL control and marking that as critical when the domain controller may not support it. 886683 You receive an "Unavailable Critical Extension" error message when you try to query against a global catalog server or a Windows Server 2003-based domain controller ht
