OS 1.5 Intel imac Entourage - email program I have enabled wireless connectivity to my husbands imac from my own. I have also got Parallels on my own computer and this has a different Ip address Parallels is using DHCP - 10.37.129.2 Imac is using DCHP - 192.168.2.6 We can both print to the same printer and he is able to get onto the internet though it is always slow to open when the computer is first turned on. I am using mac Mail and he is using Entourage. The error message is: Unable to connect to the server please check network setting etc. Error 3176. I have checked the dns setting etc but wonder if the Ip address might be causing some interference. Thanks for taking the time to look at this for me Regards Gwen #1 noddie, Aug 4, 2009 djackmac uix_expand uix_collapse ACMT Joined: May 9, 2009 Messages: 1,407 Likes Received: 2 noddie said: ↑ I have enabled wireless connectivity to my husbands imac from my own.Click to expand... This I don't understand. Do you have some sort of network bridge set up so your computer is broadcasting a wireless signal to your husbands computer? If that's the case no wonder you are having problems! Go pick up a wireless G or N router. Good G routers can be picked up for around $50 and will solve your problem for you as well as boost the connection speed on your husbands machine. Plus you wont have to have your machine turned on for your husband to connect. #2 djackmac, Aug 4, 2009 noddie uix_expand uix_collapse Registered Joined: Oct 19, 2008 Messages: 7 Likes Received: 0 Hi and t

I feel the issue has something to do with them because the trouble started just after they (Windstream) installed an upgrade of some kind. I've been on the phone with them, but they are less than useless.I've tried just about every workaround, fix, and change in settings found online, http://www.justanswer.com/mac-computers/548g9-mac-entourage-2008-stopped-sending-receiving-email.html but nothing has worked thus far. Thanks so much for your assistance. You have NO IDEA how much a resolution to this issue would help me!Thanks,Andrea Expert: Mike replied5 years ago. First let‘s check some things:Please go to the Apple logo on the upper left of the screen, go to About This Mac (DO NOT Select More Info), and tell me the Version (under Mac OS X), the Processor and the Memory, it is all right there. Then go to Macintosh HD, then go to Applications folder inside that is another folder called Utilities inside that is an application called Disk Utility. Double click on that and when it opens you will see your hard drive (usually Macintosh HD) on the left. Highlight your hard drive and click on Verify Disk on the right. If that is OK and only if that is OK click on Repair Permissions. If Verify Disk is not OK try to Repair. If Repair is successful then Repair Permissions if it is not successful let me know.
