I was told that OS-X Tiger would not fit on the existing 10GB drive when combined with the existing OS-9 system (however, the existing Hard Drive's total contents only uses up only 1.95GB.)So....I will install the new RAM module and the larger Harddrive, then install the OS 9.0.4 from my original CD-ROMs... I'll put all the files onto the new drive... then run the OS 9.1 update, then run the firmware update, then follow with the 9.2.1, and the 9.2.2 updates... then do an archive and install with the OS-X Panther using those CD-ROMS..... If I start this tommorrow after FedEx delivers the new Drive and RAM, I should be up and running before August!! (kidding, I hope)I read tons of posts about Upgrading my Powerbook G3 Firewire and wasn't that clear about still being able to use older software and access old files if I did a "Full" install with the Panther CD-ROMs then follow with an OS 9.0.4 system later. I think it would skip the all-important "keep the OS 9 drivers" choice.any further suggestions about this upgrade plan would be appreciated.THANKS!!MSG-PWRBkG3 Powerbook G3 400mhz, Mac OS 9.0.x, wish I could upgrade to OS X Posted on Mar

I'd try a different brand of media, such as Verbatim. Also, choose Save as Disc Image instead of clicking the burn button. When the disc image is finished, choose it with the Image File setting in the Toast Copy window and burn the disc from it. Let us know if that works. I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon! Message [ Ignore ] Posted: 22 March 2002 09:22 AM I downloaded the zip drivers and latest version of Iomega software for my zip drive https://www.macobserver.com/tmo/forums/viewreply/47290/ and IMAC. Attempting to install the file, I got this message " The application program "IomegaWare-English" could not be opened because of an error type -39 occurred." What does this mean? I am a newbie with the iMAC. I dowloaded the file to "documents" in the Macintosh HD drive. I'd try downloading the file again and see what happens. By the way, the IomegaWare stuff is nice to have if you're going to format a zip disk, but otherwise is not necessary because there is already a zip extension in mac os error the extension file--or should be, placed there by the system installation. Anyway, try downloading again and see if that helps. If you ever go to X, you won't need the Iomega stuff even to format a disk because Disk Utility will do it for you. It's been so long since I've used 9 that I honestly don't recall whether Drive Setup will do the same.
