Tips Tweaks Uncategorized Windows 10 Windows Vista How to Fix the Sony C:13:01 Error Hi, I am Madhu, I have sony cybershot digital camera model T7 and currently I am getting error C:13:01 error.I have changed memory stick however still I am getting the same. Please let me know what all are the options I need to try to fix the problem. appreciate your quick response. Thanks and regards Madhu From what I know of this error it seems to occur because of a bad connection between the contacts of the memory card and of the camera. Because of this the https://community.sony.com/t5/Cybershot-Cameras/Error-C-13-01/td-p/7625 fixes that I provide attempt to fix a possible contact issue. I recommend that you try the card in a memory card reader (you can buy one for very cheap) before attempting the fix in order to get your pictures off first. Fix One: Find yourself a pencil with an eraser at the end. Take the memory stick and rub the gold contacts gently with the eraser. Do http://www.thefakegeek.com/2009/04/how-to-fix-the-sony-c1301-error/ this for 20-30 seconds until you've covered the entire surface of the contacts. Then insert the card into the camera, switch to "setup" mode and turn the camera on. This should turn off the error message. The person I heard this fix from recommends you then format the card using the cameras format command. Fix Two: We will try to make sure that there is a proper connection between the contacts on the memory card and the camera. To do this remove and insert the memory stick several times over. Some recommend 5, 10, and even 20 times. The point is to get that card to align properly. Fix Three: Try to wiggle the card until the error disappears. This should restore contact. Fix Four: There are tabs on some cameras that guide the card into the slot. Bend these just the slightest bit towards each other in order to get the card to fit firmly into the slot. Be careful with this step in order to avoid breaking or otherwise damaging the tabs. Having other problems with your computer? Simply scan your computer for free to identify problem areas. It is possible that the problem is in the camera, that the cable connector of the card reader is not making proper connection. It is also possible that the card reader itself not making proper contact with the card. One of the tings that you can do is to take a pencil eraser and rub it on the gold contacts on the memory stick. Do this until you get all the gold contacts nice and clean. Put the stick in the camera, switch to 'Setup', then turn the camera on. The 'C:13:01' error should automatically disappear. Format the memory stick using the camera's format feature. There are a few more tricks listed right here. Hope this helps, good luck. Was this answer helpful? who have owned a Sony Cybershot camera one way or another and have probably encountered the dreaded error C:13:01 message. I hope you never got into this problem but if you are reading this, Oh no! Yes, I hear yah! I've been there before and have scratched my head in total disappointment. Hopefully, my little Fix 'N Trix will put a smile in your face. I too have had this problem before and thought it was a memory stick problem. I replaced my memory stick and lo and behold, there it was again. Three memory stick replacement and still it was there. While others are lucky to really have an issue with just one memory stick, others like me however are unfortunate. It seems as though the problem rests internally in the camera itself--more specifically the connector/plugs that connects the memory stick to its reader. I have found a way around this and I hope this will also do the trick in eradicating your error code and hopefully save you some money. First thing though, make sure you have tried replacing your memory stick with a new one. And if you still encounter the error code then you know its not the memory stick, its the camera! The Artsybelle C:13:01 Fix: 1. Turn off the camera. 2. Slide and push the memory stick all the way past its clicking point until there is no more room to push. 3. Hold it for a minute or so. 4. Turn on your camera while you are still holding the memory stick all the way in. 5. Slowly release the memory stick, you should feel/hear a click that the memory stick is in place. 6. If that does not work, redo the whole thing until your patience run out. An Optional Fix: If doing it over and over again didnt help, hold the camera in one hand and gently tap it on the other hand repeatedly (like a hammering fashion). Getting mad should also expidite your case. Tap it in the front. Sometimes, paper thin connectors often come lose from time to time and this should help secure it without opening the camera. The older Cybershot S series are plague by this loose connector problems. After tapping, r
