are the options I need to try to fix the problem. appreciate your quick response. Thanks and regards Madhu From what 13:01 time I know of this error it seems to occur because of a bad connection between the contacts of the memory card and of the camera. Because of this the fixes that I provide attempt to https://www.cnet.com/forums/discussions/please-help-dreaded-c-13-01-error-169962/ fix a possible contact issue. I recommend that you try the card in a memory card reader (you can buy one for very cheap) before attempting the fix in order to get your pictures off first. Fix One: Find yourself a pencil with an eraser at the end. Take the memory stick and rub the gold contacts gently with the eraser. Do this for 20-30 seconds until you've covered the entire http://www.thefakegeek.com/2009/04/how-to-fix-the-sony-c1301-error/ surface of the contacts. Then insert the card into the camera, switch to "setup" mode and turn the camera on. This should turn off the error message. The person I heard this fix from recommends you then format the card using the cameras format command. Fix Two: We will try to make sure that there is a proper connection between the contacts on the memory card and the camera. To do this remove and insert the memory stick several times over. Some recommend 5, 10, and even 20 times. The point is to get that card to align properly. Fix Three: Try to wiggle the card until the error disappears. This should restore contact. Fix Four: There are tabs on some cameras that guide the card into the slot. Bend these just the slightest bit towards each other in order to get the card to fit firmly into the slot. Be careful with this step in order to avoid breaking or otherwise damaging the tabs. Having other problems with your computer? Simply scan your computer for free to identify problem areas. a variety of Sony's digital cameras. Sometimes this can be solved by formatting the memory stick, or whatever memory device happens to malfunction, http://batteringram.org/misc/f707repair/ with FAT16 file system, or formatting it with the camera. Sometimes this problem can be dealt with by rapidly inserting and removing the memory or blowing a jet of air into the memory stick bay. Whatever the case might be, error appears, goes away, then appears again, etc. First time it happened to me, I thoroughly shook the camera -- the error went away memory stick and the camera functioned normally... until it broke again. From that point on, I the error occurred every time I used the camera. I concluded that such erratic behavior can only be explained by a loose contact or an internally degrading circuitry (while I had certainly hoped it would be the former). Below are step by step instructions and images describing how I fixed my memory stick error SONY F707. Malfunction, in my case, was caused by a ribbon wire connecting the memory stick bay to the main circuit board: it came loose at the bay. F717 appears to exhibit the same defect. How to fix it? One basically has to take the camera apart but, do not be afraid because: Your camera is already broken, you have very little to loose; Your camera is off warranty and SONY will charge you a hefty fee for a repair -- fee better put toward a new camera; The optics compartment is separate from the offending circuitry, by following the procedure below you will not cause more dead pixels on the CCD or scratches and dust on the lenses (unless you really want to). Step 1 Obtain a 1.4mm flat or 00 phillips screwdriver; others may work as well but, these are the cheapest I found. Too large or too small and you can damage the screws to the point where no screwdriver would be able to remove them. I picked up a set at Lowe's for ~ $5. Static electricity? Just don't do this on a wool blanket while rubbing yo
