Tips Tweaks Uncategorized Windows 10 Windows Vista How to Fix the Sony C:13:01 Error Hi, I am Madhu, I have sony cybershot digital camera model T7 and currently I am getting error C:13:01 error.I have changed memory stick however still I am getting the same. Please let me know what all are the options I need to try to fix the problem. appreciate your quick response. Thanks and regards Madhu From what I know of this error it seems to occur because of a bad connection between the contacts of the memory card and of https://community.sony.com/t5/Cybershot-Cameras/Error-C-13-01/td-p/7625 the camera. Because of this the fixes that I provide attempt to fix a possible contact issue. I recommend that you try the card in a memory card reader (you can buy one for very cheap) before attempting the fix in order to get your pictures off first. Fix One: Find yourself a pencil with an eraser at the end. Take the memory stick http://www.thefakegeek.com/2009/04/how-to-fix-the-sony-c1301-error/ and rub the gold contacts gently with the eraser. Do this for 20-30 seconds until you've covered the entire surface of the contacts. Then insert the card into the camera, switch to "setup" mode and turn the camera on. This should turn off the error message. The person I heard this fix from recommends you then format the card using the cameras format command. Fix Two: We will try to make sure that there is a proper connection between the contacts on the memory card and the camera. To do this remove and insert the memory stick several times over. Some recommend 5, 10, and even 20 times. The point is to get that card to align properly. Fix Three: Try to wiggle the card until the error disappears. This should restore contact. Fix Four: There are tabs on some cameras that guide the card into the slot. Bend these just the slightest bit towards each other in order to get the card to fit firmly into the slot. Be careful with this step in order to avoid breaking or otherwise damaging the tabs. Having other problems with your computer? Simply sc
I think everyone here will benefit from. After searching everywhere on the internet, none of the solutions provided help me out. Here's what I found. The problem is that if you ever use the memory stick on other camera besides the Sony DSC-F707 http://www.pechorin.com/m/2004/01/20/SONY_C1301_ERROR-208392.html or format the memory stick on a computer instead of using the camera's format feature, then you http://www.camerahacker.com/Forums/DisplayComments.php?file=Digital%20Camera/Sony/Sony_DSC-P41_C.13.01_main_circuit_board_problem will experience the "Memory Stick Error C:13:01" problem. Here's the solution that finally worked for me. Take any lead pencil. Take the eraser and rub it on the gold contacts on the memory stick as if you are erasing writing on paper. Do this for about 30 seconds or more until you get all the gold contacts. Put the stick in the camera, switch to 'Setup', memory stick then turn the camera on. The 'C:13:01' error will automatically disappear. At this point, quickly format the memory stick using the camera's format feature. CAUTION: NEVER FORMAT YOUR MEMORY STICK ON OTHER CAMERAS, USING A COMPUTER WITH A MEMORY STICK READER OR USING WINDOWS XP WITH A USB CABLE PLUGGED TO THE CAMERA. IT DOESN'T WORK. FORMAT YOUR MEMORY STICK USING THE CAMERA'S BUILT IN FUNCTION ONLY. Hope it helps and best regards. I have a DSC-W120 and I can´t read its memory stick in the camera or even in the computer. I tried the erase trick but it didn´t work. Tried the thumps, nothing happened. Someone told about putting aftershave?!! well, this I didn´t have the courage..I´m just tired to look up in internet for a solution, I ´m totally desperated because all my little girl´s photos , from her first year, are in this memory stick , and I ´ll be very very sad if I loose them. I´ve concluded that the defect is in the memory stick because the camera reads prefectly another one I have, so do the computer.regards, Andrea Comment 1, Last comment by samlucido Jun 16, 2012 Re[2]: SONY C:13:01 ERROR Naveed Posted Aug 21, 2010 hi i did this and it worked fine. i havae applied aftershave i.e sprit on memory card contacts and it worked. PLEASE HELP! anna Sat, 22 Oct 2005 13:40:35 -0700 Obviously Sony made it again. The CyberShot's cameras family is a real bad product. Just as crappy as the Vaios. Shame on Sony, they used to sell good devices, now, they sell just garbage, and very expensive. I saw thousands of people with this exact same problem, not a single response from Sony.
