Error Message Cannot https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.TECH215728 connect on socket, status 25 Cause NetBackup Master server could not resolve the shortname of the HyperV nodes. Environment is configured to use FQDN, however the Hyper-V cluster returns shortnames for each of the nodes in the cluster to the master server. Master server then tries to connect to each node of the cluster to obtain information about the virtual machines being managed, and cannot resolve the shortname of the nodes to an IP address. nbproxy log from the master server: 12:39:43.195 [502] <2> local_bpcr_connect: Can't connect to client hyperv_node01 12:39:43.195 [502] <2> ConnectToBPCD: bpcd_connect_and_verify(hyperv_node01, hyperv_node01) failed: 48 12:39:43.195 [502] <2> dblibFacadeImpl::getAllVMs(): ConnectToBPCD returned:48(dblibFacadeImpl.cpp:3048) Confirm with bpclntcmd testing: C:\Users\Administrator>bpclntcmd -hn hyperv_node01 client hostname could not be found alter client: hyperv_node01 : not found. (48) Solution Action is required to fix hostname resolution on the NetBackup Master server. The HyperV nodes and HyperV cluster name must resolve correctly (both forward and reverse lookup) for both 'shortname' and fully qualified name.Example actions may include updates to DNS entries or manual entries added
