I'm trying to find out if there is anything I can do to keep one of my nikon d90 favorite lenses. I popped my Nikon 50mm 1.8 onto my D7000 and I get "F--" flashing on the screen instead of the aperture. Several forum posts and other sources recommended cleaning the contacts on the lens so I did that, but to no avail. The aperture ring is set to 22 and locked, as it always is. Also, and this is the real kicker for me, it works like a charm on nikon d90 f my old D70. Any ideas? I love this lens, as most do, and really don't want to have to ditch it. 02-25-2011,08:20 AM #2 Skipper View Profile View Forum Posts Senior Member Join Date Jul 2004 Posts 4,442 Hmmm..... before your kicker I would say send to Nikon. I had similar problem with a Canon lens -- everyone said clean the contacts but that did not work. Canon fixed it find by replacing something. But given that it works fine on other camera there must be nothing wrong with it right? So maybe there is something wrong with camera (D7000)? But I assume other lenses work with fine with it right? So is there some compatibility problem with the two? Tho that doesn't make sense. Why is aperture ring locked on f22? I see on B&H that is it capable of going to 22. Do you use on that f stop with D70? Have you tried using it with D7000 on a lower f stop? 02-25-2011,09:28 AM #3 Riepejer View Profile View Forum Posts Senior Member Join Date Apr 2007 Location Schiller Park, Illinois Posts 2,549 This post piqued my curiosity because I have the same camera and same lens but had not tried the two together. In my case it works fin

I bought the combo pack with the lens. Everything was working fine (well, the camera anyway, my skills aren't) until recently. I've started getting a flashing F, and it won't shoot. According to the manual this is the "lens not attached" error, even though it is. The fix is easy, I just remove and re-attach the lens. There isn't more than a 1mm wiggle to it when it's locked it place, but the last couple of times it's happened I've just wiggled it a bit and the error has gone away.So I think it's a connection problem of some kind, or maybe just a dirty terminal post, but I'm not sure how to go about fixing it.Has anyone else experienced this problem? And on a possibly related note, should I remove the lens when storing the camera? I only have the 1, so I've never seen the need to remove it until recently, but I'm wondering if the weight of it is causing damage to the camera/connection. · actions · 2008-Apr-14 9:12 am · MellowPremium Memberjoin:2001-11-16Salisbury, MD1 edit Mellow Premium Member 2008-Apr-14 9:49 am Re: Need help troubleshooting a Nikon D80 "no lens" err
