Today my cat knocked my D80 off the chair. I've had this error before but normally it can be fixed by turning the lens or using a rubber on the contacts to clean it, but it's having none of it!!! I really can't afford to get it fixed so any help will be greatly appreciated!! Thank you! Follow 2 answers 2 Report Abuse Are you sure you want to delete this answer? You are going to have to take your camera and lens into a camera repair shop and have them look at it. It is quite rare to get such an error. In the 10 years and six different Nikon dSLR's, I have for instance never seen such an error. I do get a fEE error when moving a AF lens from my F4 (film) to D3 because I forget to set up the lens properly, but that is just an instance of operator error. The error you are getting indicates something more serious and falling a couple of feet is never good, even if the camera lands on a carpet.
