Ole Error 80131522
Development > Visual Studio Integrate General discussion 1 Sign in to vote Hi all,I'm having an issue with an add-in, namely that upon loading (going into the add-in manager, and activating the add-in) I get the error message that the add-in failed to load or caused an exception.Error Message: Error number: 80131522The debugger doesn't even hit in Connect.cs at all, and Procmon shows no failures in loading the add-in assembly. I've double checked the .addin file and it looks fine as well.Any help would be appreciated Friday, February 01, 2008 9:28 PM Reply | Quote All replies 0 Sign in to vote Hi Melissa, Chances are the addin isn't actually referencing the assembly correctly. Can you create a new addin project with the VS Add-in project wizard, and does it load successfully? You might want to give this a try, as it will help confirm nothing actually wrong with your Visual Studio installation, and you'll have a working addin project to cross check your own with. Wedne
Studio add-ins and testing I have found that if the namespace/class specified in the tag of the .AddIn XML file does not match the actual namespace and connect class name in the source code, you get an obscure (error number 80131522) loading the add-in. Searching the web I found in the forums that I was not the first developer with this problem, so I have updated my article to reflect this: HOWTO: Troubleshooting Visual Studio and Office add-ins http://www.mztools.com/articles/2007/MZ2007009.aspx It would be great if Microsoft could provide more helpful message errors https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/9fac37bb-c485-4451-bf4b-19bb206e22ac/addin-fails-to-load-with-80131522-error-message?forum=vsx when things are not set up as expected… This entry was posted on March 26, 2008 at 6:32 AM and is filed under Other. RE: Using a .Net DLL in a COM Application davewelsh (Programmer) (OP) 27 May 03 14:56 Thanks. I read a few pages on CCW AND RCW. My aaembly is now in the GAC and it's registered for COM. Now my VFP 6.0 app recognizes the DLL but when I call CreateObject I get OLE error code 0x80131522: Unknown COM status code.To simplify things, my .Net code is now just this: Public Class QMailEnd ClassIn FoxPro I have:PROCEDURE testoMail = CreateObject("Quality.Mail") RE: Using a .Net DLL in a COM Application davewelsh (Programmer) (OP) 27 May 03 15:30 This is supposed to mean that the COM client can't find the DLL. I have both put the assembly in the global assembly cache AND copied the DLL to the client's directory, but I still get the error. RE: Using a .Net DLL in a COM Application
