However lately it wouldn't wanna work at all. Here's what it says when I try running it: Code: [dablade@DaBlade ~]$ cd WinMX/ [dablade@DaBlade WinMX]$ ls colors.dat lib4.dat license.txt settings.dat WinMX.exe errcatch.exe library.dat olepro32.dll uninstall.exe wpnpchannelcmds.txt [dablade@DaBlade WinMX]$ wine WinMX.exe fixme:ole:CoRegisterMessageFilter stub fixme:ole:CoRegisterMessageFilter stub [dablade@DaBlade WinMX]$ Can someone help me get WinMX
the Box".The only thing not working properly is bringing windows back to front with the top tabs like settings, browses etc.Once they're in the http://www.winmxworld.com/help/winmx-wine.html background you need to move aside the main window to find http://osdir.com/ml/emulators.wine.user/2002-07/msg00186.html them again, they get hidden behind it.Other than that WinMX runs flawlessly for days, maybe even better than on Windows. You can simply use the installers from the WinMX Community Patch Page to setup your WinMX just like on windows or you can just drop the OLEDLG.DLL ole error in your existing WinMX folder.Upon first running WinMX it will prompt you to install Gecko, the mozilla HTML engine, so the status bar can be displayed properly. Once that's installed WinMX will run but not connect and the status bar will not be shown yet.For this to work you need to tell WINE to use the OLEDLG.DLL ole error wine in the Winmx folder that contains the patch and comes with the installer instead of the one supplied with WINE.WINE comes with a configuration tool that may be available in the Menu somewhere, depending on your distribution. If you can't find it just use the option to "Run Command..." from the start menu or open a console window. In both cases just type in winecfg and hit enter. In the Applications tab make sure WINE is set to use Windows XP as it's windows version. In the Libraries tab you need to select oledlg from the list and click on "Add" to create a new override.Once it shows under existing overrides you need to hit the "OK" button and you're done. Now WinMX should connect and the update bar should be shown as normal. If you continue to have problems after trying the above please visit the forum and post your information so we can look at the issues.Back to WinMX IndexWinMX without Windows Forums©2005-2016 WinMXWorld.com. However, when I first tested it I was on a remote X Server and right now I'm limited to working a 486SX laptop where the XServer is local as are the clients and with this setup I'm experiencing problems. When I try to run these graphic programs (the CLI programs seem to work fine), I receive this error: X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation) Major opcode of failed request: 91 (X_QueryColors) Value in failed request: 0x7f Serial number of failed request: 9 Current serial number in output stream: 9 This happens prior to the drawing functions. I searched the network and others have received similar errors (not with wine, though) when using WindowMaker, which I use. So I switched to twm (I'd rather not install all of gnome) but the problem persists. Is there a simple method one can suggest that would remedy this problem? Thank you, Elizabeth Thread at a glance: Previous Message by Date: running winmx with wine *** please cc me - I'm offlist *** Hi! I'm trying to run winmx with wine.
