Currently 16 GB of RAM, but will upgrade later to 32.Using DRAC to install XenServer via an iso image.I previously used this same iso image to install XenServer 5.0 successfully with no issues on HP Blade Servers.Reserved DHCP and specific NIC, which were chosen during the selection process. Changed the hostname based on sysadmin's preference.Neither server is connected to SAN or fiber channel yet. I figured these could be added later? Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice? This will help determine if the error is in reading the installation media (even though you're using an ISO, there could be problems with using it over the DRAC) or in writing to the disk. Perhaps try a local CD drive.Regarding the FC configuration - this is configured after the initial installation of XenServer. You may get further clu

It runs great from a bootable usb, but when I tried to install it, I've got the "errno 5 - input/output error". I http://askubuntu.com/questions/65830/errno-5-input-output-error-when-trying-to-install tried everything to install it on my laptop, but nothing works (also re-download the iso). system-installation share|improve this question edited Oct 26 '15 at 23:33 Tim 14.6k758100 asked Oct 13 '11 at 20:57 Manuel Andrés Vélez 1252210 add a comment| 8 Answers 8 active oldest votes up vote 8 down vote accepted You may have some bad sectors on the target HDD. To check sda1 volume for bad sectors in Linux run fsck -c /dev/sda1. For drive C: in Windows it should be chkdsk c: /f /r. IMHO chkdsk way will be more suitable as it will remap bad blocks on the HDD while Linux fsck simply marks such blocks as unusable in the current file system. Quote from man fsck.ext2 -c This option causes e2fsck to use badblocks(8) program to do a read-only scan of the device in order to find any bad blocks. If any bad blocks are found, they are added to the bad block inode to prevent them from being allocated to a file or directory. If this option is specified twice, then the bad block scan will be done using a non-destruc

I'v tried to install ubuntu with the Live CD for 8.04 and 8.04.1 (both i386) on my SATA2 drive and I always get the Message: ------- The installer encountered an error copying files to the hard disk: [Errno 5] Input/output error This particular error is often due to a faulty CD/DVD disk or drive, or a faulty hard disk. It may help to clean the CD/DVD, to burn the CD/DVD at a lower speed, to clean the CD/DVD drive lens (cleaning kits are often available from electronics suppliers), to check whether the hard disk is old and in need of replacement, or to move the system to a cooler environment. I redownloaded the ISO several times, checked the MD5 right after the download and MD5'ed the burned CD (burned at 4x). Everything seemed to be allright, but this message
Errno 5 y no sé qué hacer!!
