image on the dashboard. And you can check here if your camera is supported: http://www.ideasonboard.org/uvc/ Then checking the /var/log/ninjablock.log saying: { host: 'stream.ninja.is', port: 443, path: '/rest/v0/camera/4412BB000125_0_0_1004/snapshot', method: 'POST' }Sat, http://discuss.ninjablocks.com/t/fixed-webcam-issue-mjpg-streamer-unable-to-set-format-1196444237-res-640x480/257 02 Feb 2013 08:17:28 GMT Error: connect ECONNREFUSEDSat, 02 Feb 2013 08:18:39 GMT Actuating 4412BB000125_0_0_1007 (FF0000)Sat, 02 Feb 2013 08:18:39 GMT Taking a picture Then run ps aux | grep mjpg_streamer and http://askubuntu.com/questions/211971/v4l2-ctl-exposure-auto-setting-fails found out not running. And then try to run the service manually by running: /opt/utilities/bin/mjpg_start.sh and having this error: MJPG Streamer Version: svn rev: 3:160M i: Using V4L2 device.: /dev/video0 i: Desired output error Resolution: 640 x 480 i: Frames Per Second.: 4 i: Format............: MJPEGUnable to set format: 1196444237 res: 640x480 Init v4L2 failed !! exit fatal i: init_VideoIn failed Solution: The issue is caused by webcam do not support mjpg protocol. And this option is updated at 30/10/2012 to mjpg-streamer to accept YUV option. Google translate from article: http://www.bobtech.ro/tutoriale/raspberry-pi/78-streaming-webcam-in-format-m-jpg-cu-raspberry-pi#rpi-mjpg-streamer UPDATE: 30/10/2012YUV added option for webcams that failed input output do not support MJPG protocol (disabled by default, if activated, MJPG format conversion is no longer directly in webcam, but its processor is used Raspberry Pi) So modify /opt/utilities/bin/mjpg_start.sh:3 to have -y after input_uvc.so and becomes: mjpg_streamer -i "/usr/local/lib/input_uvc.so -y -d /dev/video0" -o "/usr/local/lib/output_http.so -p 5000"; Then run reboot and after reboot run ps aux | grep mjpg_streamer and you will see the service is running! There you go. Happy hacking. Regards,Lecky Lao marcus — 2013-02-02T22:28:50-05:00 — #2 Awesome work @leckylao! We'll be sure to include these changes in our next update. Thanks for doing the hard investigative work and finding a solution! cjandjai — 2013-02-25T01:37:19-05:00 — #3 Thanks for the help so far, but I'm yet to get my webcam working. I have a basic understanding of linux, but following your instructions I used nano to add the -y to /opt/utilities/bin/mjpg_start.sh. I now get the following error:MJPG Streamer Version: svn rev: 3:165 i: Using V4L2 device.: /dev/video0 i: Desired Resolution: 640 x 480 i: Frames Per Second.: 5 i: Format............: YUV i: JPEG Quality......: 80Unable to set format: 1448695129 res: 640x480 Init v4L2 failed !! exit fatal i: init_VideoIn failed
