Thu, 03 Mar 2005 15:14:04 -0500 Hello everyone, I am trying to get my scsi tape drive to work. Not matter what I do I get I/O errors. for tar /dev/st0 cannot write input/output error example: mt -f /dev/st0 status /dev/st0: Input/output error mt -f /dev/nst0 status /dev/nst0:

Input/output error when I run command without a tape in I get: mt -f /dev/nst0 status SCSI 2 tape dev nst0 input output error drive: File number=-1, block number=-1, partition=0. Tape block size 0 bytes. Density code 0x0 (default). Using Hard Disk as storage, I am able to take backup without any problem. Try another tape, or cleaning the heads. What happens if you do a find . -print | cpio -oBvc > /dev/st0?
