I was then able to remove the file. i don't think fsck works with ntfs drives. But I have experienced "Input/output error": $ cannot remove input rm pic -R rm: cannot remove `pic/60.jpg': Input/output error rm: cannot remove `pic/006.jpg': Input/output error rm: cannot remove `pic/008.jpg': Input/output error rm: cannot remove `pic/011.jpg': Input/output error $ ls -la pic ls: cannot access pic/60.jpg: Input/output error -????????? ? ? ? ? ? 006.jpg -????????? ? ? ? ? ? 006.jpg -????????? ? ? ? ? ? 011.jpg I was wondering what the problem is? How can I recover or remove the directory pic and all of its content? My OS is Ubuntu 12.04, and the removable hard drive has ntfs filesystem. Other directories not containing or inside pic on the removable hard drive are working fine. Quote Postby tzrfl8 » Fri Jan 02, 2015 12:56 pm Hi!I have problems with a file in the Programs folder, which gets corrupt and can't be deleted. It seems to happen, when I run a program, which ends up in a state, where I cannot stop it in a normal way and have to abort it by pressing the ENTER and ESCAPE buttons simultaneously, until the EV3 resets. However, that leaves this file in an inconsistent state. The program is called "AutoRobo", and I upload & run it from Eclipse. Normally that results in 2 files (AutoRobo.jar and AutoRobo.out) visible under Programs in the EV3 menu. However, the .out file is corrupt and I can't delete it. When trying from the menus, nothing happens. When I log on to the EV3 via SSH (as root) and change directory to the Programs folder (cd /home/lejos/programs) I can see the file using ls. But it also returns an "Input/output error". Trying to delete the file with "rm AutoRobo.out" returns a similar error... "rm: cannot stat 'AutoRobo.out': Input/output error".I don't think it is a HW problem, as the SD card functions well in general and because it seems to only happen, when I abort the program with ESCAPE+ENTER.How can I get rid of this file? I'm not good at Linux at all, but I've tried to find some filesystem or disk check program, but there are warnings everywhere about not using them on a mounted volume, which I guess this volume is. So I'm unsure about how to proceed. The first time it happened, I ended up reformatting the SD-card and installing leJOS again from scratch. But that seems a bit drastic just to remove a single, corrupt file. Now it has happened again and I'm thinking, that there must be an easier way.I'm using the 0.8.1-beta version of leJOS. And I don't have another Linux, where I can work with the SD-card. From Windows I can see the partition/volume, but I cannot see the contents. Thanks in advance for any tips !! Quote Postby gloomyandy » Fri Jan 02, 2015 4:59 pm Hi,I'm a little confused about your comment "ENTER and ESCAPE buttons simultaneously, until the EV3 resets", the key sequence to terminate a program under leJOS is ENTER+DOWN and this should not reset the EV3 but should simply abort the running program and return you to the menu. Did you try using this sequence? Did what
