I have given full sharing and security permissions for testing to the user 'data' and 'everyone'. CIFS error up vote 4 down vote favorite When I came in to work today, a mounted drive on mount error(5) input/output our server suddenly had stopped working. In my /etc/fstab I have the following line: //172.22.64.50/Web/ /mnt/netapp smbfs username=*****,password=******,iocharset=utf8,sec=ntlm 0 0 This has been working for over a year now. Then, all of the sudden when I now try to type mount -a I get the following error: root@ks-vps:~# mount -a mount error(5): Input/output error Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs) I've been unable to find a solution or anything to point me in the correct direction on Google, so I’m hoping someone here can have a few tips.
