All drives are fine. All links are fine. No network issues on the switches.Any advice would be seriously appreciated!Cheers,A.J. Reading all physical volumes. Argh up vote 5 down vote favorite 1 I've started seeing errors reported by LVM on certain Logical Volumes (and by Xen when attempting to create virtual machines on these LVs). But I've run tests on the disk, and can't see any hardware problems. We're running a XEN/Linux http://serverfault.com/questions/189803/lvm-is-reporting-i-o-errors-but-the-disk-reports-no-problems-argh (Debian Lenny) box here, running off a single SATA disk managed with LVM2. It's been in and running for more than a year, with the only major changes being recent apt-get upgrade of the kernel. # uname -a Linux hostname 2.6.26-2-xen-amd64 #1 SMP Thu Sep 16 16:32:15 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux The errors appear like this: # vgck /dev/dm-20: read failed after 0 of 4096 at 0: Input/output error And then when I try to start the VM which uses that LV for its C-drive (it's a Windows virtual machine), the VM refuses to start and I see this at the end of the /var/log/xen/qemu-dm-*.log log file: ... Register xen platform. Done register platform. raw_read(6:/dev/vgroup/newvm-cdrive, 0, 0x7fff02bca520, 512) [20971520] read failed -1 : 5 = Input/output error I/O request not ready: 0, ptr: 0, port: 0, data: 0, count: 0, size: 0 raw_read(6:/dev/vgroup/newvm-cdrive, 0, 0x12dfff0, 512) [20971520] read failed -1 : 5 = Input/output error This first happened on 2 VMs whose disk was based on a snapshot of a third, original VM. I nuked the 2 LVs and recreated them (again by snapshotting the same, original VM's LV), and they've been fine since. However, today I a
easy to use because it does not require precompiling a CxxTest testing library, it employs no advanced features of http://cxxtest.com/guide.html C++ (e.g. RTTI) and it supports a very flexible form of test http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/FAQ/ discovery. This documentation describes CxxTest 4.4, which is an incremental release that includes a variety of bug fixes and minor enhancements. 1. Overview CxxTest is a unit testing framework for C++ that is similar in spirit to JUnit, CppUnit, and xUnit. CxxTest is designed to be as output error portable as possible; it does not require RTTI Member template functions Exception handling External libraries (including memory management, file/console I/O, graphics libraries) In particular, the design of CxxTest was tailored for C++ compilers on embedded systems, for which many of these features are not supported. However, CxxTest can also leverage standard C++ features when they are supported by input output error a compiler (e.g. catch unhandled exceptions). Additionally, CxxTest supports test discovery. Tests are defined in C++ header files, which are parsed by CxxTest to automatically generate a test runner. Thus, CxxTest is somewhat easier to use than alternative C++ testing frameworks, since you do not need to register tests. The CxxTest Home Page is http://cxxtest.com. This webpage contains links for release downloads, the CxxTest discussion list, and documentation in HTML, PDF, and EPUB formats. The CxxTest Home Page also includes developer resources (e.g. automated test results). CxxTest is available under the GNU Lesser General Public license. The CxxTest User Guide provides the following documentation: Getting Started: Some simple examples that illustrate how to use CxxTest Test Assertions: The test assertions supported by CxxTest The CxxTestGen Command: Documentation for the cxxtestgen command Test Runner Syntax: Discussion of command line options for test runners Advanced Testing Features: Advanced features of CxxTest Value Traits: Customizing data traits for error messages Testing with Mock Objects: How to test with mock global functions Installation: How to install CxxTest Stat
