Panasonic Dvd Player Error Codes
DVD-RP56 player this evening and to my surprise, it could not read panasonic dvd player code h07 any disc that I inserted. Instead, it simply displayed: "H02 Error". A quick Google search indicated this was a common what does ho7 mean on a dvd player problem (defect perhaps?) to many Panasonic players. The solution is pretty simple: remove the case, open the tray and then unplug the unit. Inside you'll see the portion that spins the https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repairing+a+Panasonic+SA-HT810V+with+the+H02-H07+error/2708 discs. Give this a few good whirls and start it up again. If it doesn't spin on its own, spin it around yourself a couple times and it should start up. This entry was posted in Geek by Kyle. This is a hardware issue and unless you physically open the unit, there's not a whole lot you can do (other than bashing it on the top of the case and hoping you don't break it more). I bought it from Costco on closeout about 2 years ago for around $300 with a panasonic dvd $100 rebate and for $200 net it's been a decent system for the money although the speakers can't handle too much power when it comes to playing music. However, I recently started to get the H02 error and no disk error when trying to play a DVD or a CD. Fortunately, I found this forum here and found the solution since it looks like tons of Panasonic units seem to have the same problem from about 91 days after purchase ;oP Anyway, the simple solution to my panasonic dvd player unit was: 1. Power off the unit. 2. Remove the 4 phillips screws (two in back bottom corners and two on front side bottom corners 3. lift the case up from the back while pulling out a bit then slide the case backwards a bit to remove. 4. Powered on the unit. 5. press eject on the DVD and put in a DVD and close the DVD drawer 6. DVD will start to try to read but won't spin. 7. You have to be fairly quick before you get the H02 error so while looking at the top of the exposed DVD player there is a round white plastic piece (about the size of a US quarter or 50 cent piece) take your finger and give it a gentle clockwise spin and it should start to spin on its own. This piece is connected to the "DVD spindle" I believe. 8. The DVD should then play. If not then repeat the process a couple of times. 9. Also, while I had the case open I then used some "canned" air to blow all the dust out. 10. This "kick" start solution works because from what I've read online Panasonic made these DVD units non-direct drive and have some kind of brushless motors in them and they fail to a high degree and need a "kick" start to get them working again - although this is a somewhat temporary fix. 11. So far I've only had to do this twice now after playing about 10 DVD's. My guess is

Thanks Shamus! I had H02 on my Panasonic RV31. I tried taking off the cover and giving it a manual spin for about 20 or so revolutions. It did spin up a little when I put the dvd back in, but it didn't help fix H02, so I decided to look underneath the dvd drive.(I had to take out four screws.) I could see where the motor was soldered to a circuit board and it even had a plus and minus printed on it. Since I read on either these forums or another place googling H02 took me, that the motor was DC, I decided to press a 9 volt against the solder points. The motor spun, and I let it do so for about 30 seconds. I put it all back together and it worked again! I'm not good at electronics and I'm not recommending anyone do this. But if you are going to throw it out anyway....then it can't hurt right? DVD Fixed! September 2010 I just had the same H02 problem. I opened up my Panasonic DVD player by unscrewing the screws behind it. By doing so i was able to see inside the player. I turned on the DVD player and put it in a DVD to see what the problem was. I noticed the DVD wasn't spinning so i just gave it a soft tap and then it just spun. Don't know what it was, but maybe it had something to do with one of the spindle motors being jammed. By tapping it, i think i managed to unjam it. DVD works fine now. Shawn April 2010 hey guys i have the same problem H02 and i wipe the lens of the player after opening up the casing
