I'm not very handy, and this still worked like a charm in 4 minutes. Assuming I'd have to spend $40 for a functional replacement, that's a pretty good payday :). On my player, however, you cannot put the cover back on, and the solution is simple. I had to make the tabs at the front of the case (on top, about 1/4 of the way in from the front) rest on top of the case instead of slotting back in to where they go. All five screws go back in, but there is less pressure on top of the drive (which seems to stop the white disk from spinning). I was too afraid to try lubing it. Will try that next if needed. Thanks so much! RM November 2012 Hello, I have a Panasonic ST-DT100 9 years old. It suddenly stopped playing discs (DVD and CD). After research on forums, it was sugg

Discussed with technician and he reported panasonic dvd player that the gears get dirty and stick and need cleaning. Since last year, I get this message every 3-4 months. I take out all the screws from the bottom, open the cast carefully, and use some canned air, clear all the gears, gently rotate all of them. Put everything back together and should work fine. I did everythig but nothing helped. Finally I solve it with the help of an electric hair dryer in it's cold air fan position. Every time the same error code H02 appears the hair dryer solve it by strong cold air flow around the optical system as well as the weel. No need to unscrew the device just open the door and let the air flow do his best from different angles. hope it will do for you too. yours, Shaya. my e-mail is shaya.shakeri@gmail.com
Recorders DVD Players How do I Troubleshoot a Panasonic DVD H02 Error? How do I Troubleshoot a Panasonic DVD H02 Error? By Alan Temple eHow Contributor Alan Temple Follow Pin Share Tweet Share Email Save The last thing you want when you purchase an expensive new DVD player is for you to be unable to watch any DVDs. This is the case of you are afflicted by the HO2 error. The HO2 error is a known error with Panasonic DVD players that causes a part to expand within the unit. This can be remedied by a spot of minor surgery; it is far from a perfect fix, but it will at least ensure that you can watch DVDs on your player. Things You'll Need Flat head screwdriver Remove any DVDs that may be in your disc tray before you do anything else. Unplug your DVD player to ensure there is no current traveling through your machine while you work on it. This is an invasive process, so this step is absolutely vital. Open the DVD player by removing seven screws with a flat-head screwdriver. (There are two on each side and three on the back on my model.) Now gently pull the top off the housing. It will simply pull off once the screws are removed. Plug the DVD player back in to the power unit. The lack of top housing will fix the problem of the spindle getting warm, expanding and pushing on the top of the player.
