Gepubliceerd op 7 jul. 2014If the hard drive fails in this DVD recorder how do you replace it without having to spend money at a service centre, which is likely to be uneconomic? This video takes you through the whole process. Some parts are done in real time to give an idea of how long something takes. It does now record and play back using the replaced hard drive. It is coming up with a message that the hdd is full - however, I am not entirely sure it is - but the weird this is that the menu shows NO files in it at all - it says that it is empty. When I go to function to delete programs - again it comes up with the hdd is full - please delete programs to make more room - however again, when I select delete, it says that there are no programs to delete. where has all the data gone, and why is it showing up with the HDD full message, Does anyone have any idea on what is wrong with it and how to fix it. I can't find anything in any forums, or online help, or troubleshooting. Thank you in advance
 thebeerpig 59 posts Posted January 9, 2013 · Report post Hi I'm not familiar with this model recorder but I used to have strange symptoms similar to this with my old Digicrystal PVR9000's and a couple of other brand recorders. It was caused by the electrolytic capacitors in the power supply starting to fail. If you are handy with a screw driver, and the lid is easy to get off, it may pay to have a look and see if any of them are bulging or starting to leak. Use the remote control as follows: Function Menu -> Others -> Setup -> HDD/Disc -> HDD Management Press & hold OK until more menu options appear then Select Format HDD and follow the on-screen prompts. Hope this helps...
