I bought it from Costco on closeout about 2 years ago for around $300 with a $100 rebate and for $200 net it's been a decent system for the money although the speakers can't handle too much power http://forum.videohelp.com/threads/244337-Panasonic-sc-ht790v-DVD-H02-error-won-t-play-dvd-solution when it comes to playing music. However, I recently started to get the H02 error and no disk error when trying to play a DVD or a CD. Fortunately, I found this forum here and found the solution since it looks like tons of Panasonic units seem to have the same problem from about 91 days after purchase ;oP Anyway, the simple solution to my unit was: 1. Power off the unit. 2. Remove the 4 phillips screws (two in back bottom corners and two on front side bottom corners 3. lift the case up from the back while pulling out a bit then slide the case backwards a bit to remove. 4. Powered on the unit. 5. press eject on the DVD and put in a DVD and close the DVD drawer 6. DVD will start to try to read but won't spin. 7. You have to be fairly quick before you get the H02 error so while looking at the top of the exposed DVD player there is a round white plastic piece (about the size of a US quarter or 50 cent piece) take your finger and give it a gent
the bush Post navigation ← Previous Next → Panasonic DVD Players - H02 error Posted on 12/1/2007 by Kyle I put a DVD into my Panasonic DVD-RP56 player this evening and http://blog.aragirn.net/2007/12/01/panasonic-dvd-players-h02-error/ to my surprise, it could not read any disc that I inserted. Instead, it http://www.avsforum.com/forum/18-dvd-players-standard-def/217731-panasonic-dvd-player-error-codes-eg-ho2-ho3-etc.html simply displayed: "H02 Error". A quick Google search indicated this was a common problem (defect perhaps?) to many Panasonic players. The solution is pretty simple: remove the case, open the tray and then unplug the unit. Inside you'll see the portion that spins the discs. Give this a few good whirls and start it up panasonic dvd again. If it doesn't spin on its own, spin it around yourself a couple times and it should start up. This entry was posted in Geek by Kyle. I'm not very handy, and this still worked like panasonic dvd player a charm in 4 minutes. Assuming I'd have to spend $40 for a functional replacement, that's a pretty good payday :). On my player, however, you cannot put the cover back on, and the solution is simple. I had to make the tabs at the front of the case (on top, about 1/4 of the way in from the front) rest on top of the case instead of slotting back in to where they go. All five screws go back in, but there is less pressure on top of the drive (which seems to stop the white disk from spinning). I was too afraid to try lubing it. Will try that next if needed. Thanks so much! Tanya on 5/30/2013 at 7:13 pm said: Awesome! I tried it and…BOOM! It worked. Just to confirm, I played several different DVD's. Thanks! R. I've had this player several years and did not want to have to replace it. Thanks for the fix. Comment navigation ← Older Commen
