The UCS-51 RAID card stopped working after we lost power for an extended period of time and the APC did not shut down the server correctly (probably my fault) I have a UCS-61 out of a newer rack type Power Edge that I am able to get the computer

to boot to the RAID properties to set up the array. It appears that boot sectors of the mirrored drives have become corrupt and the windows splash screen will appear for a second while booting, then reboot. Unfortunately our last good backup is from 2009 on a secondary HD connected directly SATA to the motherboard. I have all of the original documentation, serial numbers and media for recovery...but where do I go from here...a little bit stumped. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated, thank you for your time. UCS 51 and 61 are model designations that tell me 5th generation and 6th generation, but that is about it. Is the UCS 51 a PERC or SAS 5 card? Also, is the 61 a PERC or SAS

After another hard reboot http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/servers/f/906/t/19471888 it ran through BIOS & Windows loading screen to the login screen. This time it would respond to pings & resolve DNS for external websites. When I tried to log in to the console it froze up, stopped responding to ping & would not resolve DNS. I decided to unplug everything, open the side & check all the connections & now when we https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/187797-poweredge-840-not-booting try to boot it goes straight to a screen saying: RN50 A21 BIOS PCIe Training Error: Slot 1 System Halted! Solved PCI training error slot 1 system halted Posted on 2013-08-02 Server Hardware 1 Verified Solution 5 Comments 7,894 Views Last Modified: 2013-09-04 I have a customer that has a Dell PowerEdge 840 that pcie training does not boot up. We are getting the error PCI training error. If we remove the PCI card, the server turns on and we can enter the bios normally. I have recommended to the customer that the server needs to be replaced but we need to extract the data. If we were to find a used or new controller, assuming it is the controller that is bad, does this particular controller pcie training error model save the raid configs on the drives? The device is a USC-51 (E2K-USC-51 (B) I think this would be the cheapest and quickest solution to get the server booted up. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. 0 Question by:ptsolutionsinc Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 46 Active 1 day ago Best Solution bydlethe If you still can't get it to work, then you can get a non-RAID controller and buy yourself a copy of runtime.org 's RAID reconstructor software.
