have umplugged and plugged all cables and ordered a new card. nothing works so what do i do now? Sinan Polat 6.16.2011 The PCI slot where you have the riser card in is probably malfunctioning, the riser card itself is fine. If you have warranty on the server, request a motherboard replacement. Even if you don't have warranty try to get a replacement as this is an known issue. Cameron 7.10.2013 Thanks for the pcie training error internal storage slot post. I replaced one of the two capacitors on the PCIe RAID controller that was showing signs of breakdown (expanded housing). 1500uf @ 6.3V. It was gently handled. Once it was put back into the rack - it did not boot up properly and generated the error shown. I did open the server and made sure what I could see was seated properly yet, the same error occurs. You may want to go back to the bare bones system and start adding cards to see if the problem belongs to the bare hardware or to an improperly seated card.
