Powerdvd Error Aspi
on my wife's laptop quit working. It comes up and says, "Error Code 80900004" and "ASPI for Windows is not available". If I click DETAILED it says "Only a 32-bit CD-ROM Driver is supported. Please make sure a 32-bit CD-ROM driver is installed." Power DVD version is 3.0, OS is Windows ME I already found an ASPI FOR WINDOWS on the net and downloaded it and installed, but the problem continues. Any idea on how I can fix this? Qui-Gon John06-17-06, 01:29 PMWell loading the Adaptec ASPI for Windows you can easily find on the net, didn't fix the problem. But then I extracted the 4 ME files that have to do with http://www.tsstodd.com/eng/support/av/?FunctionValue=view&no=40&SearchWord=&SearchMode=&category=1&subt=&PageNumber=13&getnumber=39&RecordCount=121 ASPI from the ME Cabinets, and copied them into the proper directories. This fixed the problem. So then I tried to do similar steps with my XP Home and the files for that, as another program, CD COPY, was telling me ASPI not Initialized. But it didn't help on my XP Desktop. Anyone have any idea how I can make sure to load the original XP Home ASPI Files? I took them off another http://www.speedguide.net/forums/archive/index.php/t-201629.html XP Home computer, my daughter's Gateway laptop. ghettoside06-17-06, 03:24 PMWell loading the Adaptec ASPI for Windows you can easily find on the net, didn't fix the problem. I hate ME, too much wierd stuff happens to the OS. The situation w/ your wife's lappy doesn't surprise me. Did you try the Adaptec install for XP or just copy the files from the gateway? Did you try ForceASPI (http://radified.com/ASPI/forceaspi.htm)? Make sure IMAPI service is on. downhill06-17-06, 10:02 PMI"m not positive but I don't think that an ASPI layer came with XP. I think it finally showed up with SP1. If you don't have at lest SP1 or SP2you'll probably have to load second party software. Try loading Adaptec ASPI drivers or one of the others you can
