I have been unable to locate anything on my computer that would let me turn it off, and every guide I've searched for on the Internet was unable to solve my problem. This is really annoying because I'm am completely unable to watch DVDs on my laptop without http://www.techspot.com/community/topics/need-to-turn-off-tv-out-function.17986/ getting an error telling me to turn off the TV-Out port. Dec 15, 2004 #2 DPrime386 TS Rookie Topic Starter I get this error when I try to play a DVD with Windows Media Player: "C00D1163: A problem occurred with digital copyright protection" When I try to play use PowerDVD, that's when I get the message telling me that my TV-Out function is on. Dec 15, 2004 #3 Nodsu TS Rookie Posts: 5,837 +6 Apparently PowerDVD does not play copy protected DVDs when TV-Out is enabled. And also, PDVD is unable to detect properly whether you are using the TV-Out or not. You could try with the latest video drivers or by using the TV-Out (connect a TV) and then disabling the TV output in Windows. Ok, so I'm like why do they even care. When I press the Detailed button, I get this: "This copy protected disc can not be played when the TV out function is enabled." powerdvd error code But the problem is I'm not even trying to watch it on tv, I want to watch it on my pc-screen. It just happens so that my graphics card has a tv out, but it's not active or anything. Is there a patch or something I can do so I can watch dvd's again? The solution is to download and install the older NVidia driver(s)... "The 41.09 and future drivers have more stringent checks in the driver to comply with the latest Macrovision requirements. If the TV encoder does not support Macrovision, you will get the "Macrovision Distribution Failed" error message or a similar message depending on which DVD software player you are using. The BT868 and Conexant CX25870 TV encoders do not support Macrovision. If your graphics card is equipped with one of these TV encoders, then it will

Simple, you do not have the correct drivers installed for any of the above, especially the video card.
