This error may be the result of either of the following: Folder and/or file permission issues caused by your antivirus program or backup software Corrupted system file(s) TurboTax 2011 or later To fix this issue, you need to do the following: Windows 7, 8 or Vista Uninstall TurboTax. Remove these folders: 32-bit system C:\Program Files\Common Files\Intuit\Database Providers C:\Program Files\Common quickbooks error Files\Intuit\Update Service v4 64-bit system C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Intuit\Database Providers C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Intuit\Update Service v4 Disable/pause your anti-virus real-time protection and automatic backup software. Reinstall TurboTax. Re-enable your antivirus/backup software. Windows XP Download XP Service Pack 3 from http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=24 onto your desktop.
